Nice video that sums it all up quite well, and hard to argue against any of it.

Regarding the latter Stones Inc. period made up of Voodoo, Bridges, ABB, and Blue and Loensome: "...none of these are essential albums..." - yep fully agreed.
Also agree with the last truly great Stones song being Keith's Slipping Away. There's been some decent ones since, but nothing that can be defined as "great" imo.

edit: And "Mick wanted to do a solo career...he did a string of horrible solo albums..." - haha, yes he did.

This is hilarious. It's just someone's version of spreading more bullsh*t around the cow pasture. We all have our opinions of what Stones era/albums were/are worthwhile. He ain't really tellin' us nothin' new. What cracked me up more than anything and gave away the game is the guy's hipster pose with his broken sunglasses (Wayfarers?) and sittin' in a rail yard, industrial lot, tryin' to look/act cool, while regaling us with his flow chart. He could've done this skit from his mama's basement.

Sure, dmay. But he did it well. The fact that you didn't like it doesn't change that. You can't please everyone.

The guy did it well, and some truths for certain, but as the travel agent said himself, he could have chosen any legacy band and done the same.

More advice for the casual fan imo, picking one album from each era that allegedly sums up the era.. nonsense. Overlooking a ton of great, classic material.
Almost lost me at the opening when he said he had to go out and buy seven albums for this.. any self respecting hardcore fan wouldn't have to go out and buy seven.
Then at the end he claims he buys them all

No , it's isn't anything that hasn't been discussed on here already, but always nice to hear a fresh take from someone who's a fan. It's a good breakdown. I like how he says Some Girls may be in the top 3... I might have to agree with this. Also, one of the temples on his glasses is missing which is pretty cool.

You can argue about his choice of the best album for each era but he's more or less bang on with the timeline of each era and the overall verdict of each era. A good watch and well done to the guy/s who took the time to put it together.

Pretty traditional way to divide up the eras. I also've been many times thinking in similar terms, like I know many, many others having done, such as - call them whatever you want - the early R&B era, the Pop Era, The Big Four, The Mid-70's low era, Pathe Marconi Era, WWIII, Vegas Era - the difference being in nuances/semantics.

Surely there are other, as good ways to do it, but I think that one is pretty logical and obvious, especially if one thinks in terms of singles and albums.

Jagger seems to think nowadays 1969 being a turning point in their career, since then they started the professional touring. Which has been their essence more and more since then. All the merit of albums and songs is how they work live. But probably that is how it looks like from 'inside'.

i like the phrase "stones incorporated" even though i would use this only for the 2000´s (a.k.a. the rolling stones touring band)
