Why was a track like Key To The Highway excluded from, say, The Rolling Stones No.2, yet Under The Boardwalk was included? Crazy decision-making!

Fiji Jim (All known Takes) was the great missed opportunity of the Some Girls Deluxe box.

Definitely a producers decision on that. Boy band bee bop could produce a minor hit possibly

I guess I'm one of the few on this board that likes Under The Boardwalk! Perhaps it was included on 12x5 because it was a recent hit for the Drifters?

Roadrunner... 1963

The Bright Lights Big City sessions were released on CD in the GRRR deluxe edition. Very disappointed because you can hear the needle drop on the songs! Bootleg versions on Youtube sound better!
Also contains vinyl version of the BBC session with Mona/Cops/You Better Move On and Route 66

Highway Child
Separately (Not counting the Mick Taylor version)
It Won't Be Long

.....and so many more! They could make another dozen albums with unused material from over the years.

Bizarrely, the Stones' rendition of Under the Boardwalk reached #1 in Australia.

Voodoo Lounge has a lot of demos I like that were never released. After the succes of GHS 2020, I'm hoping for a Voodoo Lounge deluxe set with unreleased tracks next.

1. "Stewed and Keefed": instrumental.
Note: I just researched this one and
it says it was released on the album
"Genuine Black Box 1961-1974", which
I never heard of. Oh well.

2. So here's another favorite one:
"Bob Wills Is Still The King": Live,
2006, at Austin Texas, and written by
Waylon Jennings.

Has this even shown up on bootleg? If I recall, this would be the version recorded at Chess with harmonica?

I guess you can say Bob Wills has officially been released, just on DVD. Also on the Stones official Youtube channel. Love this song.

The first one must be a bootleg?

The second one was released on The Biggest Bang.

Yes, "Stewed and Keefed" was available in an old issue of early Demo-recordings, called BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY. But unfortunetly it´s not on the later Swinging Pig-version, that I owe.

Indeed. But the 'Genuine Black Box' is a bootleg.

This "You Got It Made", I have Voodoo Brew and Voodoo Residue but cannot find it on either. Is it titled something else? Am I overlooking it somehow?

I pulled these two sets out of my archives but don't recall listening to them more than once when I got them. But so far, I am liking what I hear and don't understand why I bought them and then never really listened to them.

The other thing, these were mentioned as the "holy grail" of bootlegs. Why is that? I have original copies of Brew and Residue, and CDRs of the other set (Voodoo Stew) and was able to get them easily enough back in the day. So I am curious, are they pretty rare or not well circulated or something?

I have both Voodoo Brew & Voodoo Stew box sets, so i guess it must be on Stew. From what I recall there are a couple takes, but I'd have to dig it out to verify.
