Love Van Morrison, but seems he might be completely losing his mind...

How refreshing to see a famous person echo what many around the world feel. Good for him. I hope more come out and agree. Covid is way overblown by the panic porn media.

I'm on his side... and yours!

I hope God is on your side too. Science and reality is not.

I was a covid19 positive case, I guess he is on my side, seems like science & reality were too. As longglongwinter states, "overblown"!

No offense, but advice from someone who got the virus, likely by being unsafe in one form or another in the first place, is advice I'll respectfully decline.

This isn't unknown or overblown (ask the 180k+ people who have died in the US alone, or don't.. cause ya know, they're dead) at this point.
Large gatherings become super spreader events and people die. Period.

People always die, how many by the flu each year? We haven't shut down the world before. So we're to care about the ones now, but not the previous deaths?

I wonder what percentage of people with supernatural beliefs would be willing to accept a courier delivery of a holy book instead of an ambulance to aide them in a medical emergency.

But there's still the unknown factors of this virus....some who get it might not even know it, and come out of it unscathed.
And then there's those who suffer miserably, with some getting hooked up to a ventilator, and some ultimately dying.
Is Van really willing to put himself and other peoples lives at risk in order to perform in front of audiences in crowded venues?
Even when there's still more questions than answers with this new virus, not to mention the fact there's still no vaccine?

The Sturgis motorcycle rally that experts warned would be a coronavirus superspreader event has been linked to 100 new cases in 8 states

"Before hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts descended upon a small South Dakota town, against many residents' wishes, for the annual Sturgis rally, public-health experts said it could be a catalyst for further spread of the coronavirus.

That's exactly what happened."

Well 100 new cases is pretty much a drop in the bucket. Wait another week until its a thousand a day, because it probably will be. By direct or indirect link to that sump of genetic material called Sturgis.

Remember, its all a hoax. Move along, nothing to see here.

Unfortunately, that's nowhere near the final tally as the tracing data is just now starting to trickle in. Some of those hundred can't really move on tho.
Cause of how they're dead.

WHO reported up to 650,000 died of flu in 2017. Guess we should shut down every year. It's not that serious and everyone that does die has 1-3 underlying health problems. And sadly would die of almost any serious virus. Lock down those with health issues everyone else should be good to go. The only way to get past it. Just like the flu.

Well on the bright side, the world could use a few million, if not billion, less people so go ahead on, you and Darwin are actually helping with the world's most dire and enduring problem.

Actually this should all be considered practice for when something really deadly gets unloosed upon the world. Think Ebola or many other viral infections the world over.

Not sure but I read it somewhere. Of course I don't know if this includes modern music media. Anyone know?

I think it's Margaritaville.

I honestly would be fine with all those who think its just the flu and dismiss it would be the Darwin Award winners but the issue is they selfishly infect others who don't have the choice to avoid it. Most people who have a severe case or a fatal case or watch a family member or a close friend die think much differently. My only experience is that I had a moderate case. Fortunately I do not personally know anyone who has died but I know people who have had family members die. A friend of my son lost his mother who was in her 40's with no underlying health issues. That could have been just about anyone on this site.

Love Van’s music but this campaign seems a bit reckless and self serving - especially given the average age of his fans.

Well he can't force anyone to go. But still, shouldn't people have their own choice? Those that don't want to be at risk can still stay home.

So, what's your point? Covid-19 is like the flu and 180,000 lives are not important? Or is it people should have the right to infect others because some people are selfish?

I don't actually believe you had Covid-19 and you are just trying to sh!t up.
