The 'New' tracks since the last LP
Posted by: Captainchaos ()
Date: August 10, 2020 20:44

The 'new' tracks we've had since the last album came out.

I use the term 'new' with a broad stroke so includes any touched up Outtakes from Exile/Some Girls etc that have 'new' parts added. e.g. Plundered My Soul, Scarlet, Pass the wine (possibly Criss Cross), Do you think i care, Living in a Ghost Town.

is there a complete list of All the 'new' tracks?

I love Plundered My Soul, Scarlet, LIAGT. I want to make a playlist of the best of this (for my own delusions of new music) but not sure i know the detail to get those that have been 'added to'

Would love your help on this. Thanks

You could compare it with the Discography (ascending numbered Tracks) on [TimeIsOnOurSide.com] ....

Tracks with new vocals on EOMS 2010 reissue :
Sophia Loren
Plundering My Soul
Following The River
Dancing In The Light
Aladdin Story

On Some Girls 2011 reissue, apparently all tracks have new vocals (except for Petrol Blues).

On the GHS reissue (most likely)
Scarlet
Criss Cross
All The Rage

Other new tracks:
Doom and Gloom
One More Shot
Living in a Ghost Town
+ the 12 Blue and Lonesome tracks

Good play list, quietbeatle. Add there "Watching The River Flow" from Stu's tribute album, including not just the regular Stones members, but Wyman as well.

Quite amazing if you ask me , versus A Bigger Bang . The blues album is on a high level/plateau of it's on and is a masterpiece !

Also , I can't help but think that Mick is giving "us" what we want and not stuff like his solo albums material that would make it on to Stones albums .

If you stick to songs the Stones recorded since A BIGGER BANG it's a much shorter list!

Watching The River Flow
Doom And Gloom
One More Shot
BLUE AND LONESOME
Living In A Ghost Town

@donvis

Maybe "U Don't Wanna" is Don't Wanna Go Home? Just guessing.

No, it's neither the Track from the ABB Bonus-Disc nor a typo. It's from the 2002 Sessions and therefore correctly included in the 40-Licks-Tracks in above list. See here: [iorr.org] .

U Don't Wanna... it's too bad they didn't finish that instead of the horrible Keys To Your Love and Stealing Your Heart. Musically alone it's miles above those two combined.

Think they really went to get 2 out of 28 songs just for FORTY LICKS or did they think they were doing a new album? That's a lot of work for just 2 songs.

... I like very much "keys to your love".. full of soul... "stealing" your heart" is not that bad...

I recall the story being at the time that they went just to do two tracks for FORTY LICKS, but they enjoyed it so much that ended up with 28 or so sketches (was it Ronnie talking about 40 songs) and four being finished up for the album (and later "Hurricane" released as a charity single).

Anyway, the more I listen the songs from those sessions - we have heard about 10 or so - I think the band was in a better form than it was in A BIGGER BANG. They had a nice, relaxed groove. A shame that they didn't have time or motivation to make a proper album then. By the time of making A BIGGER BANG they wanted to start from a scratch, and those sessions were like forgotten - except the sketch that many years later turned out to be Keith's "Trouble" (which I find losing much of the catchy charm and melodism of "Just Because", not to mention its natural Stones groove).
