I prefer a good opening act.
I have been lucky to see opening acts like Pearl Jam, The Pretenders, Johnny Lang, The Strokes, ZZ Top, The Thrills, Trey Anastasio and John Mayer Trio.
They were all enjoyable to watch/listen to, and neither of them stole the Stones' thunder.

Motley's reunion tour this year drew (surprisingly) huge crowds all across North America. Similar to AC/DC in 03, I'm sure Motley will draw a different demographic to the concert. Also, it's not as though they're opening for the whole tour. I've seen them 3 times in concert. If you're not into the heavy metal, huge light show/pyrotechnics, then you probably won't be a fan. I'm sure if the Stones announced that a band like Iron Maiden or Def Leppard were to open one of the European shows, there would probably be alot of happy fans as well as alot of disgusted fans. Can't please everyone!
On a side note, I can't believe the tour dates Bon Jovi have announced. They're playing multiple shows in many cities. I believe they've announced 3 shows at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto! I didn't think they could sell out 1 show!

Demographics - with all the fat chicks Bon Jovi gigs draw, they are playing to reduced capacity arenas.

I saw Motley Crue at the Forum in March. It was a helluva lot of fun and great to hear a lot of songs off the first 2 albums this time around. Sadly, these sets will likely be 50-60 min greatest hits type sets.

At least I have heard of Motley Crue and know some of their music.

Who the fu@k is Jason Mraz and why does he have the honor of opening up for the Stones at two shows I will attend and also at other various venues?????????

It's a badge of honr for me to skip the opening acts and continue to drink cheap beer from my cooler. Over the years I've missed Living Color, Third Eye Blind, Bryan Adams and most recently, Wilco. Wish I would have missed Blind Melon. Also, puked through Van Halen's set in Orlando!

Motley Crue sucks, as do all '80s metal hair bands. I hated them in the 80s and 20 years later nothing has changed. At least it's not Bon Jovi, they suck even worse.

If you like, or even have any ears, for the Crue, get off of this board. You obviously have no taste for music. Go to the tanning bed, or get a hair-dye job, you're not a real person. Try the Uriah Heep board (if they have one), you've eaten way too many downs.

Iwent too see MC in Oslo Norawy and it rocked!I loved Tommy Lees "Titty Cam" because a girl right behind me on her mans shoulders flashed possibly the best set of melons ever to be seen in public.I had such a great time that I just had to go to the after party at the Elm Street Cafe and sink sum schooners!Real RockñRoll makes ya wanna drink beer and drive a supercharged V8 car.Lame arsed alternative music makes ya wanna put ur head down the toilet bowl and drown in your own shit.....and not to mention looking down the barrel of a gun for answers to lifes problems

its almost like selling out in a way

LMAO!

It cracks me up how people get so riled up over a support band!

I've seen the Stones 6 times and 5 of those 6 times the support bands sucked ass. Do I care? Not really, because I went to see the Stones - not the support band.

Chill out people.

"It cracks me up how people get so riled up over a support band!"

I like Motley Crue and don't really think they can blow the Stones away but it seems to be a deep fear among the most vocal detractors. It will be very interesting to hear what happens in Seattle and Portland.

I dont fear motley crue will blow the stones off stage, for one thing they
dont have the body of work to blow any band off the stage, the reason they broke up in the first place was because the tour flopped with no tix sales, my point was that they dont belong in the same arena as the stones, let alone open for them

In case you haven't tracked MC ticket sales, they are one of the highest-grossing most well-attended concert tours right now...

Also, the bidding for these tickets is getting intense... people are voting with their money and THEY WANT THESE TICKETS !

But, just for the record... you might tell us where you've seen them on the current tour and how you liked (or disliked) the concert...

Oooops, almost forgot, you've never seen them live.

Kanye West is selling out all of his shows too. Anybody on here like him? Would he be "worthy" to open for The Stones?

Well... which is it... First one of you says that Motley Crue isn't selling out ANY concerts... when I disprove that then the other one says "well they are selling out concerts but so is Kanye West"... as if that has anything to do with anything...

And neither of you have seen them live, yet you "hate" their concerts so much...

The fact is that a Crue gig is a smashingly great concert, regardless of whether you're a big fan of their CD's or not, they are one of the greatest live acts in music history...

And not an easy band to "top", though if anyone can do it, the Stones can.

See you in Seattle !! Oh, forgot, you're not attending...
