According to newspapers (and Bobby Keys), that is.

Unfortunately, people who were there can't remember...

The new Glyn Johns memoir proves WH was planned to be performed with 12-string guitars at the Marquee gig so logically we can assume it was played during the "Farewell" tour of 1971 at least at the 1st or 1st few gigs

(then the band fell into the habit of ditching numbers that killed the pace of a gig and relying on strong "up" tunes grinning smiley )

I meant people at IORR who attended. One would believe that they remembered CYHMK and WH?

Gotcha. Not so sure if people would remember if they’d never heard the songs before.

two 12 string guitars on WH, I would guess both were tuned to standard tuning, why would you play in open g on a 12 string does not make any sense to me. Next wonder you would of played the solo ? Keith never played solo live only RW.

Keith played a 10 string on the original version. He also did that live in the 2000s (can't remember which tour). You get the 12 string effect as well as the beautiful open G minor chords. Sounds awesome.
