BEcause of their age I would rather think NO !
I tend to agree with you, they will however continue as long as Mick is able to perform, in light of his heart condition it would be best for Mick to slow down now and take it easy, for the guitarists it's completely different, they can play for as long as they live, as long as they can stand up, another 10 years is possible, but it's a completely different workout for the singer and drummer and I'm sure Mick and Charlie are about to call time on live tours.

Would they consider "drive in" shows?
Seems safe to me.
I've always felt they could/should do a chill-acoustic concert series....and, well, drive-in would probably work for that.
thoughts?

Why would doing a drive-in show be considered a "whimper?"
I mean, is the thinking: "another big-stadium rocker w/ 70-80%+ of the same songs of the past ___ years" somehow more "cool?" Would a Drive-In Series that showcased their acoustic skills and gave the people what they want - live music (at a time when live music is in great need) - going to hurt their "brand" somehow?
a cool acoustic drive-in tour would be amazing icing on the most amazing cake ever-baked.....IMO.
I guess Mick kinda needs/wants/loves the crowd, so there is that....it wouldn't be the same experience...for the band, for the fans.
however, you won't catch me complaining and "change" is not a bad thing.
I'd prefer a drive-in concert to "oh let's wait it out and...."
well...that "and"....let's just say a lot can happen between July 2020 and Knebworth 2022...not all of it is good.
that being said, I highly doubt a Drive In Tour....I was just throwin' it out there....I honestly doubt another tour at all. Ever.
sigh
But, if BV says it's possible....it's possible.
I won't start believing the Stones are done until he says so!
Besides...I wanna sign up for that Meet n' Greet that Rocky is promo-ing!!
ps...there's a drive-in theater 15 minutes from my house...just sayin'

The idea of drive in concerts is just as ludicrous.

Fair enough.
I guess we can agree to disagree.
However, just to be clear - I did mean that the Stones actually PLAY at Drive-In Theaters (or large fields or someplace people can park & watch the live show)...ie. an actual Drive In TOUR....
not just "play a show, tape it, show the video at drive-ins"...
even if they played ONE show and broadcast it live at Drive-Ins...people would go.
IMO - a full Drive-In Tour would add immensely to their brand...would show their versatility, show their grit and determination, show their desire to give the people music at a time when they need it most.
....a "taped" show won't hurt them any more than "Havana Moon" did...
...a "live broadcast" would be cool too....everybody loved the COVID-19 fundraiser thing on TV....
...All are better than "No Stones"
Question: have the Stones ever done a Full Acoustic-Only Show?
if not, doing so in any context would only improve their brand....
unless they sucked, of course...haha!

One of the saddest parts of this lockdown is how much precious time we are losing for the boys to be playing. We all know the clock is ticking.

yup...which is why artists/venues etc. etc. BETTER start getting creative.
Drive In Shows are one way to do that....
The Stones don't need the money, so it doesn't matter to them at all...
