You're right. Been trying to figure it out on the guitar here. I think it's open G though. Instead of doing the G - G/C with the regular I-IV figure I do the G and then bar the C at 5th fret, but letting the bass G ring and adding the G to the high e-string at 7th fret, making it a C6/G (???) I don't know. Been playing guitar for over 30 years, but never learnt the theory...(Could it be Mick J playing the opening riff???)

Could easily be played in standard tuning too, but I think the sound is more open-G-ish.


The other main guitar that comes in at the chord changes,is open G anyway.
