I know, but do Repo Man and Gimme Shelter have scores? Seems the TS is confused.

Yeah, I see that now. This would be a good merger.

I think the OP thought it strange people kept putting things scores and live music events in the "what is your favorite soundtrack" thread and started this one asking for more bad answers. Sadly, getting on topic answers to any thread is generally a futile pursuit.

I do think people mentioned some great scores under the "soundtracks" thread...but they might as well have mentioned their favorite food or car or color...since the answer was something other than a soundtrack.

Yeah, if it weren`t for that kid in the back seat, we would all have had straight answers here.

The Hot Spot - Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker
The Falcon and the Snowman - Pat Metheny - Lyle Mays (with Bowie on one track)
Passion - Music from The Last Temptation of Christ - Peter Gabriel

Music by Ry Cooder is a nice compilation of some of his scores.

Geez, how could I forget " Performance", " A Hard Day's Night" & " Help", and also " Apocalypse Now" with that great opening song, " The End" by the Doors!?

Yesterday, I saw The Fighter for my first time.
I was surprised at how effectively the Stones song was used in that movie.

a few off the top of my head:

Goodfellas

Casino

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood....any movie with RS 'Out Of Time' (there's a few) is often a decent soundtrack.

Pulp Fiction & Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill vol.1&2.

Quentin Tarantino generally does a great job in selecting obscure, yet impactful songs.

Ania Dabrowska- Bang Bang (Nancy Sinatra cover, but much better version)

+
obvious: Magical Mystery Tour, AHDN, Help, Let It Be/Rooftop concert. even Yellow Submarine had some good songs on it.

Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds (soundtrack for La Vallee) ...has Free Four & Wots, Uh The Deal.

Pink Floyd - Wot’s… Uh The Deal (Official Music Video)

Pink Floyd - Free Four

Two for the Road - Henry Mancini (1967)

(Yes, I like easy listening.)

I'm not into easy listening (I'm only 49), but my dad always listened to Sinatra among others. I've got a few Sinatra GH & Best Of's etc in my collection...but 2 songs that aren't mainstream, yet should be on GH's imho are:

Frank Sinatra - Let Me Try Again (1973 ) ...my favorite Sinatra tune & I only like ~ a dozen.

Frank Sinatra - Somewhere My Love (Lara's Theme from Dr. Zhivago '66)

duet:
Something Stupid - Frank & Nancy Sinatra 1967

also:
Ania Dabrowska - Bang Bang (Nancy Sinatra cover, but much better version)

I've just finished watching Flirting With Disaster.
If you like The Grateful Dead, you'll enjoy it.
Great Road Trip Movies have good soundtracks.
