I dunno.

As much as I like live albums I've not been one to get a lot other than by artists I like. In other words, I don't have FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE because of its historical status. Should I? I've heard whatever on the radio and that seems to be the big deal.

Of the live albums I have... I'm guessing by "live albums" it implies not "bootlegs" like what Pearl Jam and The Cult and various artists have done at times, so that would exclude HAMPTON and LA FRIDAY etc.

In no particular order:

AC/DC If You Want Blood You've Got It
Jimmy Buffett - You Had To Be There
The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!
Jason Isbell - Live From Alabama
Nirvana - From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah

Two standouts from the selections mentioned, are Bob Marley's 'Live', and excellent album, and the Who's 'Live at Leeds'. Those two would go right below my first five. Duke Ellington at Newport is another great. I'm surprised no one else picked Band of Gypsys. It was Hendrix at his absolute zenith. If I was going to pick a number two Stones live album it would have to be Brussels. They are cookin'.
