It's the sound he's making that doesn't really cut it for me. Of course he's good, but it surprises me that he doesn't try a more distinct sound, like Bill had.

His LwM sounds great to me.

His tone is very dry indeed with the Stones.

I don't know either why he choses to sound like that.

He was tested and hired by Miles in midd 8-tees, so no doubt he knows his walking bass stuff.smiling smiley

Do you hear a lot of walking bass on the Miles-albums he played on? They are very 80s-sounding. Good, though.

No, he's more funky fusion based, but I cannot imagine that he doesn't understand the principals of walking bass judging the complexity of the lines he plays with Miles. Decoy is an interesting album for example.
