Mick sends back a signed face mask to the woman who made it

Here's a French story. Basically some woman made a facemask with the tongue, sent it to Mick at his castle in France (Pocé-sur-Cisse) and Mick sent it back, hand signed.

It would have been hilarious to see him wearing it!

I’m struggling with the face-mask. During most of my morning commute by rail, it’s hanging around the neck. It’s claustrophobic. I only pull it to my face if someone mean-looking really glares at me.

Try wearing one if you wear glasses. Within two minutes you can't see for fog.

I bet Mick will now be getting hand made masks by every post...

Ridiculous. Man up.
You're not going to be very fond of a ventilator either.

You have very severe and serious health issues if you can’t breathe when wearing a cotton mask.

I don't blame him for not keeping/using it, you never know when some idiot is going to lace it with anthrax or some other poison.

Quite surprised by the reactions, here. I’m guessing you’re all in the high-risk category. Look, it’s each time their own. I do wear it, but regularly pull it down; and I definitely do not wear one in shops or in the office. That’s simply ridiculous

Mick is the most genuinely humble guy you can imagine but you would not believe if i told you

A mask with a nose wire very quickly fixes that problem.

Dead right, I’m sure, about Mick’s postbox!

A friend was complaining that they are uncomfortable so I found some fabric with guitars on it and made a lined cloth mask. I think he’ll wear it. Green Lady and Beast are right about the foggy glasses, and the metal piece helping. It’s sadly yet another New Normal, we’ll adapt and get used to it, or we’ll have this damn virus around far longer than we have to.

Hey there is a gathering for people like you at Mt Rushmore this weekend!

I'll be sending MICK a mask soon! haha I love that RS mask!

Just kidding I tried making masks. Spent $20 on materials, it was too big and the strap was tight. Then I made another one, and the strap was too loose, and the mask was too small. Third try also came out wrong.

Now I'm using the 50 pack of blue masks I bought in Walgreens for $30.00. Much easier, reasonably priced and they are very comfortable.

Well, in the UK, you’re not legally obliged to wear one in shopping areas or offices. Only public transport.

I recommended to him going on a Tuesday (<1/2 off second sub purchase).

Masks probably help a little but big picture they are bullshit, just like most of the media coverage of Covid 19. Mortality rate is so much lower than they all projected. You're risking more driving on the expressway

I wasn't really referring to legally, more to just common sense I think. Remember, masks are to protect others more than to protect yourself. Not wearing one in close quarters is being kind of cavalier with others' well being. Now normally I wouldn't mind that all that much but in this case being in close quarters such as work or indoors anywhere really kind of demands a bit more concern. I am not preaching, just suggesting, and really, what you do is your business. I totally agree masks are a pain in the arse, but I have come to just accept them as part of the social contract. Luckily I live in the country and don't have to deal with it much.

I do understand your viewpoint, jb. Whilst people are generally not wearing masks, social distancing is been adhered to. It is a little difficult to do amongst colleagues you’ve known for years, though!

Anyway nice one Mick, send the thing back.

I can't believe what I am reading here.

Folks, if you are around other people, just wear a mask and stop whining. It's for the greater good.

I understand the science regarding the need of face-masks when one is within a certain distance of another person. I adhere to the policy when it is mandatory. However, I have observed people wearing them when driving alone in their car. The government has scared many people witless.
