Exile : A healing balm

It's been a long while since I heard this all the way through.

Violence and problems in my family, the whole world dissolving in a crumbling mess, and Exile makes the hairs on my arms stand to attention, late at night, alone with the headphones, on a little island in southern Europe.

Thank you Rolling Stones.

Your not alone. I listened to Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed on Monday. Today was Exile start to finish along with the bonus disc from the 2010 Special Edition. Really hit the spot.

I'm not sure i would listen to LIB to seek confort in tough times.
This record litterally dribbles with blood... eye popping smiley Okay there's light at the end thanks to Jagger who wrote "You Can't..." but otherwise...

When I worked as a social services counselor, Friday afternoon of each week was what was called my "paper day", time set aside to complete forms and catch up on work not yet completed. So, I'd bring out the Walkman - a cassette tape version at that time - and listen to Exile through headphones to get me through. It did. It, and Beggar's, remain my fave Stones albums.
