Mask or no mask, seems a bit risky for Mick considering his age, his health history, and the fact that several people within close proximity aren't wearing masks.
But like almost everyone else in the world, seems the lockdown, isolation, and social distancing can take it's toll, and he probably figured getting out and about was worth the risk.
Beautiful church - both inside and out. Duomo di Siena thumbs up

Mick wearing a mask there is an almost inadvertent nod to Siena's history. As beautiful as is its cathedral (and I've been in it and it's beautiful in and out) what's built was supposed to have been just its facade (facciatone), with a grand building to be built behind it to compete with Florence's cathedral. But the Black Plague hit Siena and the cathedral was never completed, making what was a built a cenotaph of sorts.

I had an apartment in Siena for a year, it's a wonderful place to spend time. Glad to see Mick is out and about, responsibly out and about.

I'd say Paris by a moonlight mile over San Francisco.

What an absolutely fantastic church that is! It's a shining example of the grace and beauty of Western Culture. And to think it dates back to the Middle Ages. Thank god it didn't get bombed in World War I or II.

Not a fan of Mick's hair though!

Why do atheists visit these Italian Cathedrals and religious sites? I am assuming Mick is an atheist

Does it? I think it looks deprived of a conditioner.

Because he is interested in cultural history and art. (Which I think is admirable). I think Sir Michael once defined himself as an agnostic, not an atheist.

I'd say Rome by a moonlight mile over Paris. Was several times in Paris and can't understand why so many people love it.
Second to me is Florence. Then Lisboa and Barcelona.

I don't believe in god, I do believe that you miss most of the genius of world in the arts of architecture, sculpture and painting if you don't visit religious sites, not only here in my hometown (florence) or in Italy, but exspecially here.

I recall visiting Florence as a young university Art student, and had a hotel room directly across from the Duomo.
All of the museums, the beautiful architecture, the public art everywhere, and the fact it's a fairly reasonable sized city to get around on foot...
Needless to say visiting there is one of the greatest highlights of my entire life, and no doubt I'll cherish that experience forever.

Totally agree. Why not talk more about Matt Clifford being with Mick. I'd like to here thoughts about that.
