Like stated here the new remaster is wayy to compressed.
BUT, the dolby atmos version has way less compression.

Also after a quick listen Wembley sounds ok. Not Amazing, not bad either.

Yea, what's the point buying the super deluxe album when you can listen to it for free on Spotify? Saves you both money and space...

Because, for personal example, when a hurricane comes along and knocks out power and internet and, I dunno, you get power back within 8 days but not internet, in my case, over a month... I'm certainly grateful for not joining the 'oh it's online so get rid of' idiocy of DVDs, Bluerays and CDs.

Ida made me realize some some things: the internet is not all it's cracked up to be in "being in touch" or "communication". X amount of people marked themselves safe on FB because... I really don't know. A majority of people I saw posting that were nowhere near, yet alone where I was, Ida.

And with the whole 'connected' bullshit of social media... nothing. Just like the idiots on a couch saying 'stand in solidarity' with whatever.

Complete bullshit.

But the distance of that "being in touch" may be my own fault for eating the disaster of a hurricane with glee and people may see something - or not see a thing - and figure, well, leave him alone - but for a week or the rest of September, I found it interesting not one person within personal circumference asked anything.

Yet alone others from afar. But I figure it to be 'it's a mess' so why bother. It is. It will be for a while.

That aside, the whole "we are a community" is a bit odd: only if you're really in trouble for a moment - a day later it's forgotten.

Don't think you're on your own? Have friends? Bullshit. More alone than you may ever be capable of understanding. Life is not an app.

I rode around on a bike I didn't even recognize. I got lost because of all the trees and water except when I realized 'oh, that's' whatever bayou overflowed or I recognized a tree yet it's on the ground. I found friends I haven't hung out with in eons and they fed me variations of Bloody Mary's and whatever.

Here we are.

Yep. 2 hours later: I gotta go.

OK. See ya later.

It took me over an hour to go half a mile home because of the destruction. Wandered around and saw just mess, houses split by trees. Houses surrounded by trees. Streets completely shut down because of trees. That didn't affect me, strangely, specifically, the disaster that I'm familiar with for so long, it was just MORE so, a lot more so, especially after seeing what happened S and SW of where I live that got PLOWED - what really affected me was sleeping in a house that was 89F and wondering how my dogs were handling the heat.

So.

I welcome the hard copy deluxe reissue of TATTOO YOU.

Missed out on the release of A BIGGER BANG because of Hurricane Katrina. I missed everything with it. Katrina taught me that my interest in music, regardless of how and why, didn't matter. I had to be where I was and deal with where I was. With exception to a certain aspect of music, music meant zero at that time, and the Stones were not on my mind, but music turned into a lifeline.

Being reduced to a piece of dust, or the equivalent of a twig, brings on new observations - and respect for "things" in life.

There's a general attitude here along the Gulf Coast that seems to confuse the rest of the United States - we ride every day. Because at any time it can all get destroyed.

The beauty of disc 2 of the 2021 TATTOO YOU deluxe is... if you don't like it, don't listen. If you want to bitch about it, I have several fallen oak trees you can crawl under and tell me if they look heavy.

I'm having a great time listening to Disc 2 now. I admit I didn't quite get Fiji Jim in the Fully Finished version, but I think this version is a lot better.

Start Me Up is excellent! It's like a reimagining. I really liked hearing the different take on it. And if these are new vocals, Mick is doing an amazing job. It's hard to believe he can still sing so well.

Drift Away had the old vocals?

The two songs with their original vocals are Living In The Heart Of Love and Drift Away. Everything else has new vocals.

Start Me Up seems completely new and redone...not only new vocals!

It's a real funny community here - with "Lost & Found" imo the Stones just released their best album since, yes, the original "Tattoo You" and people complain about the dynamic range!

I'd even go so far to say that the material on "Lost & Found" puts lots of stuff on Emotional Rescue, Undercover and Dirty Work to shame.

It's great, and this one is up there with the SG extra album.

Wembley is superb, a raw, rough and rowdy performance as I like it. Besides Leeds another testimonial of the greatest band on earth (and in heaven).

The vocals are new.

the vocals are new on all "extra" songs, and not only vocals. Solid effort overall, but I personally prefer by mile recently leaked outtakes over any extra/deluxe song.
Fast talking, slow walking.... the original outtake is a perfection. I was expecting remastered production... but definitely not new vocals and guitar parts.
I won't be listening this deluxe version even few times, prefer old production and outtakes spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Not on all.

It's the backing tracks of Never Stop, with new guitar overdubs from Ronnie and new vocals. It's brilliant! thumbs up

humm after a listening this morning on Tidal Hifi with excellent headphone the technical limitations are here for the album remaster. Hiss as always.

For the outtakes my impressions :
Living in the heart of love : at last the good title track. You can hear Keith properly on vocals. New Ronnie guitar part with a solo around 3'+ Taylor if I am correct. A solid rocking song.
Fiji Jim has a great Mick harp.
Trouble's a coming we know it now. Played liv recently. A great one. New MJ vocal of course.
Same on Shame shame shame with great interacting guitars (more than 2 in the mix).
Drift away has a new guitar intro ? and maybe new vocal MJ only for the choir part. Drums sound too thin.
It's a lie. Very "some girls" album style. New MJ vocal. Very dancing song. A bit too long.
Come to the ball is something I did not know I think. new MJ vocal. The bass is efficient.
Fast talking (from Jamaica sessions if I remember). Nice piano (Hopkins) and Taylor behind; new MJ vocal. New Ronnie accoustic guitar I guess. Great ballad now !
Start me up : at last the reggae version ? I love it !! best release

The outtakes disc of Tattoo You is BY FAR the best disc of outtakes of any of The Stones Deluxe releases. Fully realised songs. Do I love them all? No. But I LOVE most and like the balance of them. Very VERY happy to have them.

I am ready to cancel my order for superdeluxe. With this audio quality it does not worth 100+ Euros.

DR4/5 is atrocious. Any word on whether the vinyl version has the same amount of compression?

I'm on my way to the store to get the 5 LP vinyl superdeluxe right now.

The digital mixes with this kind of compression is meant to sound ok on several devices (phone, headphones from phone, computer etc.).

The dedicated vinyl mix will sound good, like most of these releases do (with a few exceptions).
