The Wembley show sounds horrible. Muddy and murky. Shucks.

Wembley seems to be a good mix. I can't judge it fully though, as I'm still at work and have a poor sound system here.

I thought it sounded all right, too. Listened with headphones through a stereo system. A good show, too, seemingly.

For the live show, sounds like they tried to remaster the audio taken just from the video, not the masters. I don't get it.

Is it as crisp and clear as Leeds 82? This is the benchmark for me.

Hm, Come To The Ball sounds familiar - is it on a bootleg as an instrumental version?

Punchy tune for sure.

There´s an hilarious quote from Charlie in the book:

"With the bigger stages, the others all just moved further out, but Mick has always done what he does.
It was just that the runways and the areas got bigger.
But, essentially, it´s the same thing as being on that little stage in the Crawdaddy Club, where he used to wiggle his arse.
It´s the same arse wiggling, except sometimes i never see him, because he goes off on the wings."

Maybe not, but there is some punch in this mix that weighs up for it. And Leeds had some issues with Keith's guitar sound that came back through a few songs.

I will try it on my HomePods and on my home sound system later on. The main thing is that Keith hasn't misplaced his guitar again like last Sunday. >grinning smiley<

Is the gig from June 25 or June 26? Or the two combined? The June 26 gig is famous for its cock ups. Edited out, maybe?

The bonus tracks all sound pretty great to me and it will be cool to have an '82 show with "Chantilly Lace". This will be only the 2nd Super Deluxe I've bought, the first being 'Sticky Fingers' which was mainly for the Leeds '71.

With this levels of compression nothing can sound great. Even 2009 remaster had DR8. And we called that one brickwalled!

I am ready to cancel my order for superdeluxe. With this audio quality it does not worth 100+ Euros.

My deluxe did not arrived yet; but listening to the snippets on Qobuz it seems this 2021 version is, at last, excellent, with no hiss. The 2009 had a hiss (easy to hear on the beginning of TOPS).
The Wembley show is great since the 82 tour was poorly documented.

Three of my favourite outtakes from the 70s are Its a Lie/Fiji Jim/Fast Talking. The snippets seem to display new vocals on all three. Looking forward very much to hear them but hope some of the original vox are still in place.

Wembley '82; snippets sound good. I love the sound, tempo and manic energy of '81/'82. Hampton and Leeds simply rock! Seattle/Houston '81 on YouTube, that tour has a charm all it's own.

Tattoo You is full of hiss and vocal bleeding from earlier takes. If they managed to remove that, well done!

Part of its charm, imo.

Giles Martin working with Goats Head Soup was fantastic, this new version of Tattoo You is not in the same class.

The new version of Tattoo You, however, brings no improvement on the german pressing from 1981.

However, it doesn´t sound any worse, so my first impression.
The bonus record sounds totally ok to my ears.

I haven´t listened to wembley yet.

Ok, i will only be able to make my final asessment after one or two listening sessions - preferably at the weekend round midnight.

The terrible DR Numbers belong to the digital editions. I can´t judge this - i have only the records.

All of this is of course my purely subjective opinion, which is based, among other things, on the reproduction of my sound system.

Not a bad one by the waywinking smiley

The songs sound pretty great, as in the songs....not the math, the songs. There are great songs on the bonus disc, IMHO. You've been very helpful over the years in terms of providing information and context to various recordings and releases, but I'm talking about how these songs feel, and they sound great to me. Seeing your charts certainly makes me wish that the production was better, but cranking these at high volume in an open room will still be a kicking experience. thumbs upcool smiley

I think the live show will be somewhat enjoyable but band of the Stones caliber supporting their last great album, 'Tattoo You,' should be able to release a top-quality live performance and this, once again, falls short. So that begs the question, why release it at all? 'Still Life' is weak, Hampton is uninspired and plodding, Leeds is frenetic and sloppy. One has to wonder, cash grab??

Yesterday i got the super deluxe edition from my local record dealer.

So far i haven´t had time to listen to the records, but at least i´ve looked at everthing.

I really like the picture on the box....how is it called...lenticular, wobbly or shaky picture?...you already know, just like the picture on TSMR.

The Gatefold Cover for Tattoo You and the Cover for "Lost & Found: Rarities" are nothing special.
At first glance, however, i think the book is wonderful and justifies the price for this edition.
The five records look good, no damage and apparently pressed clean.Does it list the musicians on the songs

Probably the bad thing is, ok - we knew it before, the mastering of the studio recordings were done by Stephen Marcussen.
Wembley Live was mastered by Sam Wheat. I hope that it did a lot better than with Voodoo Lounge Uncut.

What gives me hope for good sounding records is, that Bernie Grundman made the lacquer cut for the studio recordings

You will not be able to crank this record up. It is already up to the limit. As a matter of fact you will need to turn the knob contra-clockwise to avoid distortion and prevent damage to your audio and your ears. This is not even a brickwall, this is concrete. DR 4-5 is not excusable.
