If Wembley sound is anything like Leeds then bring it on!!

Here is a large chunk from the 1982 Wembley concert (June 26). Including
the infamous version of She's So Cold (3.10-). Enjoy.

Do we really know there's a track called Come To The Ball or is it just what everyone agrees CTTB stands for? Cut That Tree Branch

Or "Comrade Truncate That Bass" said Jagger to Don Was in the studio, regarding Wyman's contribution to this unreleased song?

Is there an English version of the JPC WEBSITE anywhere? Hard to navigate in its German version!

Thanks

There will be a Carnaby LP limited edition. It appeared briefly on the official store (with a "forthcoming" picture) but it has disappeared now.

Yeah I was going for the picture disc but accidentally bought this one, my order confirmation says;

1 x Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Carnaby Street Vinyl) (Vinyl LP)
Release Date 22 October 2021

US$34.99

See what happens smiling smiley

Songs like Travelin Man, Hillside Blues, Zipmouth Angel, Nellacote Instrumental, Red Blood Wine, would have been better choices

Always had Living In The Heart Of Love as an outtake, however really loving this clean, finished version. Frickin Rocks as it should!

Why is Wood putting overdubs on songs that were made when he wasn’t in the band and not Keith?
I guess the reason is ... those songs weren't finished and they wanted to finish them today and today there is no Taylor but Wood.

They would absolutely not fit anywhere near a Tattoo You album. "Blood Red Wine" ? Seriously?

ronnie seems like with no energy to this show

Even the OK, allthough too lenghty, "Travellin' Man" is so Taylor-heavy, that it surely wouldn't fit. And even if Ronnie replaced Taylor on overdubs - it's radically different.
Like if placing "Take It Or Leave It" on Exile.

I don’t know Zipmouth Angel, but those others would have fit on an expanded Exile. Nine or ten songs seem like a waste of a CD.

The "Switch to English" button is now on the bottom of the jpc-website.

Btw: the Tattoo-You-Deluxe 5LP is currently #2 in the jpc Sales-Charts, 4CD+LP is #11, 2LP #30, 2CD #71 - [www.jpc.de] .

Watching this fabulous Wembley ‘82 footage, and I can’t help but exclaim: I can’t believe Keith is only thirty-eight, here! That craggily face can surely tell a million stories.

I saw four of the British stadium shows in 1982 and Wembley 25.6.82 was the best by a long way IMO, probably because it was a sort of homecoming after six years. I have listened to an audience recording of this show multiple times over the years and I am really excited by this surprising, if overpriced, release.

I think for non-Europe destinations the VAT is removed. My total with shipping was around 101 Euros.

And these two shows were their first-ever at the legendary Wembley Stadium!

It looks like Come to the Ball is the only song we don’t know anything about.

If I had to guess, I could see it being an updated version of Dancing Girls/Brown Leaves with brand new vocals. The whole “dancing” theme in parts of the lyrics could line up thematically to the title. It kind of like how the Stones took the “all the rage” line from the You Should Have Seen Her Ass book and expanded on that for All the Rage for the GHS re-release.

I don’t know, maybe it’s a reach?

Interesting, I can't hear "come to the ball" in "Dancing Girls" but then it's hard to understand much of what MJ sings. I must have spent hours listening to the first version that surfaced on "Lonely at the Top" and that was incorrectly titled "Linda Lu".

I see the GHS version is supposed to be on "The Real Alternate Album - Goats Head Soup " [www.dbboots.com] - I seem to have missed that one although I wouldn't be surprised if it was the slow instrumental version that first appeared on "Could You Walk On The Water"...

While I don’t hear “come to the ball”, I do hear something that sounds like “I will be hooommme” throughout the song that could be replaced with “come to the balllll”.

When I used All the Rage as an example, I didn’t mean literally the line, I meant more of taking that line and writing lyrics around that line instead of whatever the song was originally about.

In this case, it’s taking the mumbled lyrics of Dancing Girls and exploring a new direction to the theme. Maybe 78 year old Mick doesn’t want to sing about dancing girls, but instead wants them to come to the ball, lol.

Again, I’m just having fun speculating here. A lot of people like to complain about the reworking of the songs, but I enjoy listening to the bootlegs and new versions and comparing the two.

I think the problem with LITHOL is the arrangement, A good producer would have removed all the 'working so hard' sections that don't take the song anywhere. In fact they sound like a separate idea that may or may no have lead to 'Luxury'. I enjoy Jaggers gnarly vocal in the verses but apart from that it's easy to see why the track wasn't released . It sounds stiff and awkward to my ears.

Yes, and the English version still gives you a German version ... dunno if that's a temporary glitch only.

Here's the link to the 4CD+1LP version:
