Cat is out of the bag : [www.rollingstone.com]

Solo sounds new ?

Here's the text

"The Rolling Stones will mark the 40th anniversary of their 1981 album, Tattoo You, with a reissue featuring a bonus disc filled with previously unreleased material. The set will arrive on October 22nd via Polydor/Interscope/UMe.

To accompany the announcement, the Stones released “Living in the Heart of Love,” one of the nine previously unreleased songs that will appear on the bonus disc, Lost & Found. The nine songs were all originally recorded while the Stones were making Tattoo You, but were recently completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the Stones.

Along with “Living in the Heart of Love,” Lost & Found will feature a rendition of Jimmy Reed’s 1963 track “Shame, Shame, Shame” and a rendition of Dobie Gray’s 1973 soul tune, “Drift Away.” The disc will even include an alternate version of one of Tattoo You’s most famous tracks, “Start Me Up,” that incorporates some reggae influences.

Along with Lost & Found, a super deluxe edition of the Tattoo You 40th-anniversary set will come with a live album, Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982. The concert was recorded in June of that year on the London stop of the band’s Tattoo You tour and boasts a 26-song set that includes plenty of Stones hits, plus covers of songs by the Temptations, Eddie Cochran, and the Miracles.

The Tattoo You 40th-anniversary set will be released in several physical formats. The two-CD set will feature just the remastered album and Lost & Found, while the four-CD box set will include the original album, Lost & Found, and the Wembley concert. The album will also be pressed in several vinyl formats, including a five-LP boxset that also comes with a hardback book featuring rare photos and interviews with producer Chris Kimsey and photographer Hubert Kretzschmar."

EDIT - full 4:13 version is on Spotify and you can hear Keith quite well so it's closer to the old booted version from "Lonely at the Top" than to the FFSO version, that's surprising.

Diff in price for TY 2-CD set and the 4-CD is quite something. 2 CD 16.99; 4 CD (incl pic disc and 124 page book) 130.99!

That is 113 Euro extra for 2 extra CDs, picture disk and the book!

Must be wrong. That's the same price as the 5LP + book-set.

EDIT: It's £109.99

"The nine songs were all originally recorded while the Stones were making Tattoo You, but were recently completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the Stones."

That goes against the prevailing gospel how Tattoo You came to be

Living In The Heart Of Love sounds very good thumbs up

Very...and with original vocals.
Maybe there is a guitar overdub toward the end?
And I hear Taylor...interesting.

I don't see any kind of contradiction… '…while the Stones were making Tattoo You' refers to 1974-1979…

well i pulled the trigger on the Double Clear Vinyl + Double Black Vinyl package, for 48 GBP plus 12 for shipping.

[therollingstonesshop.co.uk]

You don't get a lot of deals with this band, but it was 20% less than buying each LP set separately plus I assume I saved a bit on the shipping.

I'll watch market pricing on the 5 LP, that won't sell out quickly...and now on to the picture disk!

"Tattoo You celebrates 40 years with the release of a brand new deluxe remastered edition. The 2CD includes the newly remastered album alongside Lost & Found, a brand new collection of nine previously unreleased songs from the period of the album's original release, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band. Among these, "Living In The Heart Of Love" is a quintessential Stones rock workout, complete with urgent guitar licks and fine piano detail." -- [www.Amazon.com] .

That is right and also the reason why it's a rubbish statement

Ronnie plays the solo right before Taylor's.

Definitely calls for the Super Deluxe Version on iTunes which is 17.99 € for a digital copy of the 4 discs (Album + Outtakes + Wembley show).

LITHOL vocals sound like they are from the FFSO version, but Keith’s background vocals from the original version added. Mick Taylor’s guitar that comes in around the 13 second mark in the both bootleg versions seems to have been erased, but they kept MT’s guitar in other parts.

Overall, I like what they did. It’s always fun to dissect these “new” releases.

if the running order is correct it is June 26 – Chantilly Lace was the 10th song on June 26 but the 8th song on June 25 (at least according to setlist.fm)

Yes - that solo sounds overdubbed.
Need to listen more if vocals have been added...but nothing sticking out...yet!

That's Ronnie from 3:01 to 3:10 with a solo that starts like several he's played before but I can't quite pinpoint it now, SMU maybe ?

[youtu.be]

The FFSO version was a lot shorter at 3:29 vs 4:13 here and...4:12 for the LATTT boot version.

The Ronnie/Taylor solo switch does not sound natural and all too favourable for Ronnie I'm afraid. A bit forced, it sticks out as an overdub.

Wow great version.....back in the day it was regarded too close to Luxury("Working so hard" line), but not true. Ronnie's solos are very nice also!!

Yeah, maybe it's those KR background vocals that give it the "70s sound", but MJ vocals are newer.
