Intriguing. Cool images. Hopefully, if the movie comes to be, it won't put me to sleep like "2001: A Space Odyssey" has every time I have tried to watch it. I know many love it, but Kubrick's film is a great tonic for insomnia.

This thread jogged my memory from The Rolling Stones concert at the Esprit Arena, Düsseldorf, October 9, 2017.

At some point of the show, a roaring noise started to descend from the ceiling, a rumble that sounded like something industrial, powerful air conditioning of some sort. It was particularly recognized during the between-song intervals, and many on the floor looked upwards, their faces showing a sense of bewilderment, “WTF is this?”

And, somehow it reminded me of the sound effect that accompanied the monolith, that iconic, enigmatic black slab in 2001: A Space Odyssey, on the scenes whenever it appeared in the film. I told my on-the-spot impression to Peter, the man who kindly sold me a spare LD ticket outside the venue, and he nodded understandingly, a wide grin on his face
