All the sets are currently unavailable at Amazon.co.uk and at HMV.com . Makes me wonder if they’re going to push future sales from the Stones online store? If so, it will be to all our detriment as they are terrible in every way compared to Amazon. I’m still waiting for my Goats Head Soup discs, still pending even though the release date was September 4th. Poor.

I wouldn't be surprised if this release gets a little more traction than previous live releases, mainly because that tour really got people's attention again. The packaging is so distinctive, the split tongue...

Maybe or maybe not. I would say the promo campaign for this one has lower priority comparing to GHS re-issue. It is virtually nonexistent (at least in my woods). I visited a couple of record stores this weekend. Some of them still carry adds for HONK by the shelves with The Rolling Stones products .

iTunes US still only has the Concert-Film available

Just pre-ordered the BR/2CD set. Very excited. It was my first "boot" back in '89 when I recorded it on VHS and then off of the radio. My VHS box has Stones news clippings scotch taped to the case. I'll have to find it.

They will never do the mix work, which they did on Flashpoint, for a whole three hour concert, it would cost exaggerated!
In these concerts they try to improve the sound a bit, raising or lowering some tracks, but they certainly do not do a real mixing. In this clip, for example, they turned up the volume of Wood's electric guitar, which in VHS is buried in the mix, Keith is already loud and feels good.
The piano and Mick's voice are crucial in a ballad like this, so it doesn't matter ...

I pre-ordered it for only 25 euro by Amazon NL and direct after I ordered it they changed it to 50

received my copy today.

first impressions:
Yes, it's SD only but anyway huge upgrade to circulating videos.
Sound very close, also much better than the distant sound we had until now.
Haven't made my mind up yet about the mix etc., but so far it's looking like a nice release.
The packaging of the 6 discs set is very nice, in case someone cares.

EDIT: surprise for the Bonus DVD from Tokyo 2.24.90:
video quality is the same but while the old Jap only release only had stereo audio, this one here has a 5.1 mix too.

I confirm the sound is pretty great. The guitars are WAY up and very well divided between the two channels. It's pretty impressive in fact. It's the first time I get to listen the Sympathy solo that way. Very satisfied with this.

I might do two more versions of this : the Ronnie side and the Keith side

Depends on the University and regulations. I used to obtain amazon packages at my business address at the University (until they change the rules and placed a ban on personal correspondence).

Usually amazon packages were delivered to my post box at the faculty or to the secretariat of the department. But on occasions the packages were delivered the central post office, I got email (or phone call) from them and had to go there for pick up. This strongly depends on current University regulations (and the size/weight of the package too ).

Got my package today ( 24,52 € ) by amazon logistics.
Had a quick look and will listen later on.
As others have mentioned,it's nicely done with all the discs coming
with individual cardboard sleeves and a seperate book...
much better solution than the GHS edition with
the book glued inside the whole thing...

there's no problem with DHL (they know what to do), all other carriers are too stupid

How good is the book in the deluxe set? Must say I loved the GHS deluxe book, lots of glossy photos from '73!

Good reviews this far on the sound; guitars a little low on some SW proshots so great to hear they're mixed nice and loud.
