i remember in the 80ies when there were only a few books you could
buy and that was it.

Agreed, even in early 90s when first discovering them, information hard to come by. The only way of seeing list of albums and even critical opinion was one of the band biographies, so I bought one.

Every piece of information is so easily and wuicjly accessible these days, as well as any music or video content you"d wish to see when checking out new bands. Its a goldmine of information.

Yes indeed. All a bit boring now probably but was right at the front and I mean chest up against the stage. No safety barriers in those days. Got hand slapped by Mick. Great night and still very fondly remembered after 44 years. Clapton came out and they did Key To The Highway. The band fed off the audience and the audience fed off the band. 3 months later also saw them at Knebworth.

It is true! and many times in the "specialized" record stores they lied to you about a lot of things and you believed them! jaja!!!

Key to the Highway with Clapton supported by the Stones is now one of my "White Whale" recordings haha. I never knew they played that in 1976. Did Jagger sing backup vocals? Did Richards take a solo too? He played great guitar on the Dallas Rehearsals version.

I was looking through a Rolling Stones book called "50" and there is a picture of the Lotus stage during a show at earls court in 1976. The stage is set up at the center of the arena with the audience surrounding it. A portion of the public had to watch the band from the back it seems. Did that stage revolve at some point?

Lord no. The stage was perfect. I'll never forget being in row 10, the Fanfare, Keith's Honky Tonk intro, the petals unfolding, and Mick front and center, scowling as his petal descended. Goose bump!

Absolutely agreed!

We saw it at one of the shows at Earl's Court. Most other people there complained about the dreadful echo off the hard walls that spoiled the sound. Not a problem for us as we were so far from the band that we were sitting a couple of rows from the walls and didn't pick up the echo!

On the Lotus Stage, I think (not totally certain) that Keith Moon bought it?
