I feel ABB is a pretty good album, but it has too much filler. I'l like to others' picks and their sequencing. Here's mine:

Oops, that's 11, but oh well. This edited version is the one I've mostly been listening to. I have another disc with just Let Me Down Slow, Driving Too Fast, Biggest Mistake and Infamy that I will throw in occasionally - they are decent to good songs, just not great ones. However, I refuse to ever listen to Streets of Love again! Man, I really hate that song.

I fully agree with the filler comment. Anyway I think it should be forbidden to release more than 10 songs on an album, especially if it's one by the Rolling Stones. However, this is my selection:

Well, there are still fillers (*) but not so many anymore.

You could do this to the last 4 Stones albums and it would make them better.

Interesting that despite all the bitching about Streets of Love, most of the people here who would limit ABB to 10 songs would still keep it.

Just because you can fit 70 mins of music on a CD doesn't mean you have to. They should stick to 40-50mins like the old days.

You're on the right track with this topic, sort of. The question should be if Exile on Main Street Were a 10 song album would it then have a chance of being the best of all stones albums. The answer is no.

If you do not especially like this band or this album only, why should you have to spoil the joy for others who love ABB, by forbidding tracks in a number of more than ten? Tending to persuade the band to reduce new releases hereafter, too! And if an objection would be that one does not have time to play the whole album on each occasion, why should this be a problem? You could do what in addition provides for a variation, and so does for me when it is ABB that I am playing, take up the listening where you left it last time in a neverending circle.



For years I longed for new studio material. Finally, my wish was fullfilled when I had nearly given up any hope. And then we obtained an album where there is not one track that I would trade away against a hypothetically unreleased and unfinished track that the Stones themselves did not find good enough or, alternatively, suitable in this context. Besides, I take great joy in the totality of the songs of ABB. And I do find great satisfaction in the fact that total playing time usually surpasses my time available for each occasion. It is something that adds to the enjoyment. Apart from that, some of you might argue that what you instead would prefer, was for all the tracks to be spread out on two shorter releases. However, the words of the majority seem to indicate that many even would prefer to be completely without some of the tracks. If applied as a rule, it might concern songs of your own choice. Give it a thought.
