I would say they were the most influential band ever. A sad loss and will be remembered forever.

Sad to hear. His work was hugely evolutionary in modern music. Even though he had left Kraftwerk some years ago, it is tough to get this news.

I’ll be spinning some of their tunes today.

I was stationed in Alaska, mid 70s. We had a library with some records. Saw Kraftwerk, and took it back to the barracks. Very, very, odd for its time. But I did get a kick out of Fun, Fun, Fun, on the Autobahn. It wasn't until David Bowie's 'Low' a couple years later that I began to see Kraftwerk's significance.

Especially since 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of Kraftwerk, their Kling-Klang-Studio and their first Album.

Autobahn was my very first album when it came out, others followed and I was lucky to get me a ticket for the Paradiso show "Trans Europe Express" in 3D a few years ago and it was amazing.

I remember when I first heard "Hall of Mirrors" on a TV ad in the early 80s. Despite not understanding them much, as I was growing up I got to know them better and enjoy some of their albums. It was a nice surprise when the Stones honoured them with that Düsseldorf poster in 2017. RIP, Florian.

Florian Schneider-Esleben, co-founder of the legendary group Kraftwerk, is dead. This was announced by the Sony company in Berlin on Wednesday, citing Kraftwerk founder Ralf Hütter. Schneider-Esleben had died from cancer. He was 73 years old.

Never really my cup of tea but Kraftwerk were certainly quite influential.

The Kraftwerk live show is one of the most impressive I've seen in 47 years of going to concerts. With the 3D visuals (yes, audients get cardboard specs at the door) and the surround sound and the four men in matching skin suits standing behind the matching lecterns, it's quite the spectacle. Florian left 12 years ago, but he was part of everything in the setlist.

seriouly, kraftwerk need to be in the hall of fame. i was litening to tran-europe express today & it sounds totally contemporary 40 years later.

I knew Ralf Hütter from very early 70's.

He was from my hometown. Still had very long hair. Some month ago -before Covid -I last met him at a local Media-Market going throu cd's.

Last time I saw Florian is many years ago at Düsseldorf station. He already looked very old and nobody would've recognized him.
