The funeral of a good and sweet man.
This is the last day that Alan is with en between us.

Funeral Update.

Dad's funeral will be at 9am on Thursday 28th May. Unfortunately due to everything else happening at the moment we are not able to have a large service.
We wanted you all to be aware of when it was taking place so you can be with us in spirit, if not in person.

When all the restrictions are lifted we will have a larger celebration in Alan's honour, which we hope many of you will be able to attend.

Hi Jos. I'm close friend of Alan's and was looking after him while he was ill.
Just want to say thanks for the lovely messages on behalf of myself and Alan's daughters, Ella and Beth.

Early yesterday morning we said goodbye to our wonderful Dad.
Many of you will not be aware that he was sick, due to the fact that he was a very private person, but unfortunately he fought and lost a very rapid battle with Cancer.
He went very peacefully under the care of the fantastic doctors and nurses of the John Radcliffe, and Ella and I were able to go and say our goodbyes to him there.

Alan's family asked if I could tell about his death on the websites he loved so much, I did. I wrote back:

Besides a Stones fan, he had to like trains since his signature picture was a Deltic locomotive.
