Has anybody heard this yet? If this doesn't rekindle why you love the band, there isn't any hope for you. This new soundboard recording is pretty standard fare up through "Neighbors" - THEN the band just rips into "Down The Road Apiece" followed by one of the best versions of "Going To A Go-Go"and the sound quality just blossoms perfectly at this point too. Now THIS is fun!

it rocks indeed, HalfNanker - (and for the record: i have it, but not in a form i can upload. i'm not stingy, just technologically primitive, with chickenbones in my hair.)
The trouble is that I'm a little scared torrenting it from my job. I did it once, but don't really dare to do it again. I don't have a computer at home cause I wouldn't know how to ship all that stuff back to Holland when the day comes that I move back again. The site www.yousendit.com allows you to upload a file to their servers. You fill in your own e-mail address and then you upload the file to their servers. When you receive the mail, you put the link in a thread here. People have been doing it on this board lately and it's great.
I love this song too. I have a stupid story about that song.
I was living in LA, and my car was broken. I felt like having some chicken, so I walked up to the store. When I got home, I was already to start cooking when I realized I didn't have any oil or butter to cook it in. I was pissed as I didn't feel like walking all the way back to the store.
Somehow that line popped into my head "momma's cooking chicken fried in bacon grease..." so I thought I'd give it a try. I have to say it was awesome!
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Crap, I knew I shouldn't have posted that stupid story. Pick someone else! I've learned my lesson.

Louisville 81 was my dad's first Stones show. He was a longtime fan but had never had the opportunity to see them before that. For the longest time I had been trying to find a good recording of it. I found the shittiest audience recording in history of the show and thought that might be it. Imagine my delight when several weeks ago I was sent the full soundboard. My dad flipped. And I must agree, Down the Road Apiece is killer. Always loved that track.
I just recently acquired the 11-9-81 show from Hartford, CT where they also played "Down the Road Apiece". It completely rocks....soundboard recording too! They only played that song five times on the tour, but I'm sure most of you already knew that. I'll be happy to share it via usendit if people are interested. Just give me a few learn how to use usendit and I'll post it here.

Go to www.yousendit.com, leave your own e-mail adress and add the song from the folder on your pc, then wait until upload confirmation, copy the url of the uploaded file in a post here and you've got it!
I lived in Louisville then as I do now, but sadly could not attend as I was eleven years old and recovering from a broken leg. Wouldn't have known Down the Road Apiece then but the studio version is incredible. The band flat-out swings, Mick's vocals are fantastic, and I'm not sure if Keith, at the age of 20, ever surpassed his playing on that song.
I'd love to hear the live rendition from 1965, Bill Wyman choose for his "Black Box" (which turned out to be "Metamorphosis") - it's been from the set the "Got Live If You Want It" EP was made of - maybe the best (and most authentic) Stones live recording until now!!!
I sent Drake the Louisville soundboard, which was on the top of his list of wants. I also added as filler all the released sounboard versions of Down the Road Apiece. He farted off my trade and I had to ask him twice when he plans to mail to me. He has bad manners. I'm sure glad I didn't include the last (unreleased) version of Down the Road Apiece. As he said, it was several weeks ago, and he promised me he would send what I asked for (and it's not the Columbus show, which I already have).
Just finished d/l of that great recording! Many many thanks to the seeder and to Rocks Off!!!! But, I've got errors in tracks 8 and 15 disc one, track 5 disc two. They are not listenable. Anybody able to help me out with those tracks? mp3 would be ok, just to complete the thing! Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Could you post something in the Bit torrent thread on Rocks Off indicating that theres a problem with that torrent?
That way, other people can check if they have the same problem and it can be verified whether or not its a fault with the download itself - and hopefully the seeder can fix and re-seed the 3 faulty tracks, if necessary
