Got quite excited at the prospect of something new...sadly having heard it a few times, I'm decidedly uninspired.

I wanted to like it, I really did, but it sounds like so many of those dull filler songs from many recordings through the years from Dirty work on.

I'm probably not the best person to review new Stones material since I don't rate much since Tattoo You.

Many of you seem to really like it so it's likely I'm in a minority and I am glad so many are enjoying it.

The recording dates and locations I gathered from info I could find on IORR, timeisonourside. The personnel and everything is in the description of the YouTube video.

Like in the official video for the song, you can see Mick recording the lead vocals for the song at his house in his home studio.

What the @#$%&?! Well this is a nice surprise!

Just a cool, laid-back song that feels like a natural progression from the Blue & Lonesome sessions. I love how the harp solo leads into the spooky little breakdown.

Great timing to do this right after their standout One World performance, and the video is a deft reminder that the Stones are still capable of capturing little moments in time.

What did everyone think?

I think it is great! I rank it about equally w/ Doom & Gloom, which I also love...

And how about a 'thumbs up' thumbs up for Darryl Jones!

This song really does have a mix of other Stones material while sounding like something they haven't done before:

The funkiness of Miss You
The slinkiness of Love Is Strong
The bluesy harmonica on BLUE & LONESOME
A splash of reggae

It took a few listens for me get into it, but now I can't stop listening to it!!

I can’t say buy it enough! I want this song to go number one! I’ve message links to all my friends and shared it on Facebook. I always share the hell out of anything new by The Stones cause I want people to hear why I love them so much. But please buy it somewhere. If this song goes number one, we’ll get the whole album really soon!

Maybe I'm a dope...but where can I buy it?

I went to iTUnes and I couldn't buy the single...it wanted me to sign up for Apple Music (or whatever it is called that is $9.99 a month)....

am I missing something?

Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Thank you to Deathgod.

Also, noting that Mick and Keith's PR indicates the 6 or 7 tracks worked on last year that Soldatti mentioned is 100% correct.

The whole Covid-19 thing changed things, it all changed during the last 30-40 days, no new material was in sight until late 2020 at least, but the band can't tour this year and who knows in 2021, so we can't be surprised if a new album is released before their next tour, it's all they can do now and the band had 6-7 songs more or less complete back in March 2019 and this new tune must be one of this songs.

Also my source in Universal is not working since early March, and we're out of touch since then, this new release was very well hidden and completed in less than a month.

moronic question ... it wasn't.

I love it on its own, if it were by someone else, i probably wouldn't have known about it. If you're implying Stones fans just blindly love all they do, you don't pay attention much.

If it was done by anyone else we'd be saying it was a decent song with a Stonesy vibe. But no-one could do it like Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie.

Good song, and clearly timely. Look at these guys! I absolutely enjoyed it even if I wouldn't call it overly memorable. Though, it's definitely growing on me through repeated listens...It's got a good groove!

I love that it sounds inspired but not forced, gives me optimism for other content from the presumed upcoming album. I suppose if I had to be picky I would have killed for an even more extended version of Mick on Harmonica (that was a highlight) and perhaps another layer of Ronnie adding further bluesy licks as the song progresses as that "live jam" sound on an album cut is what made me fall in love with the band in the first place. They've always known how to have a song "build" as it goes along. And I think this will play well live, especially with world events. Certainly has a little "Miss You" and other past tracks in it without being a copy, you can just see Mick having fun with the crowd during that quieter breakdown.

This is an awesome surprise and I can't wait for (hopefully) what is to come with a new album...hoping this isn't just going to be a "one off" for now due to the topic relevancy to the crisis!

like who?

probably not...b/c it wouldn't sound the same.

but, then again...maybe somebody like Jimi Hendrix could make it sound better?

who knows?

I think this goes for a lot of music.
