Really hits the vibe of the present moment. And it does remind me a bit of the Specials classic.

However much you try to shoehorn him in, that line is "trumpets were all screaming" and is nothing to do with Donald!

Not so bad.
Two things I don't like : the unbearable and uninspired choirs and sorry, Mick who overacts, seems to listen to himself sing. If Keith has contributed for 10% to the composition, it's quite already good.

For me, and whatever Mick tells in RS interview (he us so modest and humble here, impressive ), it's his song.

Is it me or is there a weird little timing "hiccup" at the very beginning at 0:01 ? Just before the descending guitar notes "borrowed" from Freddy Mercury's "Living on my own" ;-)

With headphones you also hear these weird "pings"/"echoes" starting at 0:18, lots of ear candy ;-)

Have listened a few times now on Spotify and youtube....
Lyrically...maybe leaves a bit to be desired. The vocals are pretty good, but do I detect some autotune? Nothing wrong with that, but...I love Mick's wailing harmonica part.
Musically, I'm digging the grooves...nice guitars-Stonesy vibe throughout...and Charlie keeping it real...my head keeps involuntarily nodding to the groove and the beat which is a good sign...

Wirth respect to back ground vocals - instead of singing OH OH OOOH; maybe oooo, oooo,,, Boooooo (softly) - Again this has a VooDoo Lounge feel. Also the guitars could be a tab bit up front- In all Much better - and promising. The harmonica in background is we appreciated - could come out more as well.

I feel so good right now... I feel like dancing, even if I'm the ugliest dancer in the world. The Stones saved my life once more... Coming to our Emotional rescue in those hours of needs! When Mick says in that interview:

"I’m very hard on myself. If I write something or if I write something with Keith Richards or whatever, it’s going to be great. It can’t just be good".


Honestly, when was the last time Mick (either solo or with the Stones) released anything original that could truly be considered "great"?
Does he actually think everything he writes is truly great? Yeah, he's very modest and humble lol....

Is this new tune "great"? No, not really by definition, but it's a pretty darn good tune considering the circumstances, their age, and the amount of time it's been since they've released anything original.

Anyhow, thanks to the Stones for adding a bit of spice to the current crisis, they could have just remained silent until the album was completed which could have been several years from now.
Maybe now we'll hear more from them sooner rather than later - hope so.

Reminds me of a Scoobie Doo tune as they approach a haunted house. Living in a ghost town that's a telling and simplistic lyric, TRUMPets screamed, yeah that may be Trump reference. Though I'd never think of Trump screaming. maybe seething.

Sounds great, totally original by the sound of it, doesn't particularly sound like anything they have done before, well done Mick, well done boys, now i really want the new album if it ever gets finished.
Pity they didn't give any visual aspect to this, maybe to follow hopefully.

Not impressed on the first listen. Maybe it needs to grow on me.
