Mick Jagger can stand in his empty livingroom, singing to the PC-camera, and still create that great concert mood. Real nice video

Good performance especially by Mick and Ron. Certainly as good as any other performances on the show. Mick and Ron were absolutely into it! We saw Charlie’s sense of humor and Keith was cool.

I watched the replay after I finished the Jorma Kaukonen live stream. Since the Stones performance wasn’t live, I don’t feel I missed anything.

The selection of YCAGWYW can be viewed many ways. A message to the health care workers trying to make the best with scarce supplies, the people who are ill and fighting the virus, those stuck at home and/or laid off, the fans who were hoping to see them live this year but who are now on hold, and the Stones themselves who would undoubtedly prefer being able to tour but given the gravity of the situation need to stay isolated.

They did give a good performance, although Keith didn’t seem much engaged. I think it’s more indifference than age though. Just watch Jorma Kaukonen’s performance from tonight. He’s about exactly three years older than Keith, yet much more dialed in as a guitarist and a performer. They both share a period of heavy substance abuse in the 70’s, have both remarried into more stable relationships, raised children, and written thoughtful, well-told autobiographies. It’s obvious that Jorma plays his guitar regularly to keep his skill-level so high. Not sure if that applies to Keith. Attributing his indifference to his age seems, well, ageist.

Ironically, when watching this performance, I got what I wanted.

It's being posted online that Charlie used a virtual drum kit app called Freedrum.

So how was this arranged?

Perhaps an edited soundboard recording from a recent concert was the foundation, providing Charlie's drums and the samples we're so used to on tour, then Mick, Ronnie, and Keith recorded their parts?

I would assume Mick did the backing on garage band. Or Chuck. It is never Charlie on the drums, it is from a computer.

A purely disappointing performance with a indifferent and nonexistent Keith

Even if I often criticised Keith Richards I would like to defend him here - a video like that is a signal, but it is not a musical pleasure to get into. So I do not expect him to be too thrilled. Charlie Watts puts on a funny performance though, a bit of english humour can help through dark times.

Keith looked like he didn't know the camera was on!

He won't switch into "live performance" mode till Pierre hands him a guitar and pats him on the shoulder.
(just kidding... I love you Keith!).

And these guys are undestructable... When they started in 1962 the "core three" certainly didn't imagine that 58 years later they would perform together live but separated by 1000's of kilometers.

Also, it looked like he was playing YCAGWYW in standard tuning for the first time in about half a century. He usually plays that one in open G, capo 5th fret.

As for the Jorma comparison, Jorma doesn't have huge arthritis knots on every knuckle as does Keith.

I'm not surprised Keith is not rocking out through a web-camera in his own living room, he's not to comfortable with these digital thingies. If he could play through a fax machine, it would be a different scenario
What matters is that he participated.

Great tribute to the world and to the health workers. Sad to see the missing part, we all know how strong this song is when the crowd take over at the end.

there is no way anyone living in reality can say this was good - yes mick and ron seem to be into it - but keith isn't even playing and charlie's mime joke isn't funny after the first 30 seconds - perhaps he and keith should've switched off...

That doesn't look like Freedrum.
Charlie's playback-drumming to a pre-recorded drumtrack...

But still... he's cool !

Well I like that they don't take their performance too seriously, or emotionally, like some of the other horrible performances by other artists in this broadcast. It wouldn't suit the purpose of this fund raising/tribute.

That was an anti climax, Salt Of The Earth would have been so much better and given Keith more to do, but haho these things are always going to be about Mick, on the bright side thank God we didn't get Miss You, and nice to see Charlie smiling.
Damn Keith looked cool though.

I think Charlie used some app where your hand movements are the drums.
Right side = cymbal.
center = snare ect.

Electronic drum sticks.
