Thanks for posting that. I wasn't familiar with that song but really enjoyed it.

So sad to hear about Toots. A fantastic singer, songwriter and performer. I had the pleasure of seeing him live 3 times, and each gig was fantastic. He had a brilliant stage presence and I don't think I've ever danced and sweated as much ...

He will be missed....

Sorry for your loss. Too bad many people still get it (that the virus is for real) and won't get it until they get it.

Can you please elaborate on what the fake news was there?

Three year old Minnie Osbourne, one of Ozzy's grandchildren, has contacted the virus but seems to be doing well so far:

My girlfriend was infected by Covid-19. She pretty much suffered from the loss of taste and smell, and particularly from joint pain and "lung burning". That took about 10 days and another three weeks before she finally felt much better. After nearly half a year, she still suffers from breathlessness on climbs.
During the time when she was infectious, we were in quarantine together with our 11-year-old son. Neither him nor me finally got the virus, even though we were close together, ignoring home quarantine.
I was tested three times with negative results each time.

Yes, the virus seems to operate in this way. My brother is a nurse and was working on a Covid ward. He contracted the virus, felt like crap, but recovered and returned to work after a short time. I think I may have had it during mid-March. I felt pretty terrible and experienced symptoms unlike anything i'd quite experienced before. It passed quickly, however. Work wouldn't allow me to return, though!

I just don't know anymore. I'm just thoroughly tired of hearing and reading about it; as are most of my friends and family. Boris Johnson's draconian measures that'll be in place from this Thursday will have no effect whatsoever.

While the virus is a terrible thing, it doesn't give people an excuse to behave like Nazis, which is what's happening. I run most days, trekking out for 10 miles as I'm reluctant to return to the gym.

However, what I don't like is people yelling at me, from vehicles, while out running "Where's your mask ?". I'm sorry, but I wear the mask when shopping. I do not think people, however, should take it upon themselves to be police when they, patently, are not. This is a form of harassment, I feel. Here endeth my rant, but being able to run is a liberty that, thus far, hasn't been eroded.

Who's yelling at you, like that? A mask whilst jogging outdoors? Ridiculous! Flip them the middle-finger!

I barely 'go out', admittedly. I used to enjoy frequenting a pub on occasion, but I've had a couple of real pain-in-the-arse experiences with this track-and-trace nonsense and having to order my rounds from an app, blah, blah, blah. With table-service only from Thursday, I think i'll stick to drinking indoors exclusively, until common sense prevails and they stop treating us like children.

Tommy DeVito, a founding member of The Four Seasons, the band portrayed in the hit musical "Jersey Boys," has died of COVID-19 complications at 92.

DeVito died in Las Vegas on Monday, according to his friend Alfredo Nittoli, who first posted the news on Facebook.

Two other founding members, Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio, also released a statement on social media.

"We send our love to his family during this most difficult time. He will be missed by all who loved him," part of the message read.

Together with Joe Long, the men started the foursome in in 1960, becoming known for their harmonies and falsettos. DeVito and Valli had already been performing together since 1954 when the band started.

During their time together the band had four No. 1 hits including "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man" and "Rag Doll."

The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, and they were immortalized in 2005 with the creation of the hit musical "Jersey Boys." It tells the story of the band and won four Tony awards, including best musical, in 2006.

DeVito was born June 19, 1928, in Belleville, New Jersey, and was the youngest of nine children. He taught himself how to play the guitar and started performing as early as the age of eight.

His last album was a series of Italian folk songs that he recorded and released in 2006.

I used to live in England for almost a year in my younger days and was in the UK many, many times and I know the social importance of pubs. Great places to meet friends (The Philharmonic in Liverpool ...cool smiley).
My daughter and her man (real pub/beer lover) live in London as does a good friend (Penge), so I do get frequent updates. These are really tough days. I find the limited opening (12.00pm and close at 01.00am and limited eccess very strange. Like if one more hour would make the difference? Spreading would make much more sense. So does adding more outdoor seats/tables (I know however that many small pubs often don't have that option). Closung down beer factories? (No, I'm kidding winking smiley).
Best of luck!

This thread is dedicated to posting about "People infected or affected by the virus". Please do not use this thread for discussing the corona virus situation in general, or any political comments related to the virus situation.

Why? Because within short time, any such comments will spread hate and fights like a wild fire, and the IORR editor (me) would have to clean up all the fighting and political statements posted.

Sure it would be great to discuss the virus, affecting us all these days, but unfortunately there is too much politics involved these days.

You're right off course. A relaxed mutual English-Dutch understanding could indeed trigger unwanted reactions.

To the point. I was not yelled at, but people looked at me in a very aggressive way while I was running. One can sense a form of hysteria, which is not helpful.

The First couple are now self-quarantining.

They have 15 minute results from his rapid test, he announced the quarantine long after that timeframe but didn't mention results. Speculation is heavy that he would have announced it was negative if it was...
Don't wish it on anybody for the record, but karma (and not wearing a mask) can be a bitch.

Karma can indeed be a bitch. Lets sit back and see what happens. My bet is he doesn't wear a mask at his night rallys.

Everyone on Airforce One and in the West Wing really needs to quarantine. Reports she is symptomatic and there is no social distancing or use of masks. Next 5 days will be very interesting.

Watching CNN, and there's speculation that she might had it for several days now which would mean everyone at the debate might have also possibly been exposed.

Everyone at the debate on Tuesday was tested but this has the potential to be worse than the Tennessee Titans outbreak.

Yet the tests themselves are not always precise - not an expert myself, just relaying what I saw on CNN.
