Already posted on the previous page.

Kirk's solo is the only nice thing I can say about that butchering of a classic 'tallica song.

O.T. Ray Davies and cast of Sunny Afternoon.

Can't find The Kinks thread but a nice video here featuring Ray Davies.

Cheered me up thinking of the dozen or so times I saw this show.

Thanks for that, crawdaddy. I was lucky enough to see this late in the run and really enjoyed it. If we ever have theatre again, I hope it tours over here.

Thanks a lot.

I dig The Stones. I love The Kinks.

Only saw the Kinks once in concert, during the Word of Mouth Tour in 1984, but it was a fantastic show!

IMHO, "Do It Again" was the last great Kinks single.

Also caught Ray here in Atlanta during a solo show in 2006. Wish he'd come around again...

Sheryl Crow and band (6 musicians ?!) with horse and cat in attendance rock pretty hard on "There Goes The Neighborhood" (Bobby Keys played on the original track) with an intro that's hard not to dig ;-)

It starts as Heartbreaker. Nice idea.

On the original studio version is Bobby Keys.

That was so cool , props to her horse where in the beginning of the video she shares a piece of straw with her horse . I was surprised the horse didn't get spooked or bothered by the rumble of her bass . Very cool song and video and horse and Sheryl was in tip top form . The best !!!!!!!!!!!

Sure it's cool etc but I anyone think these videos are actually recorded live? The Stones one shows they're not. She's got a bass guitar that's plugged in but it's just... plugged in. The cord is on the ground, not in an amp, she's singing along but there's no way that was recorded out there.

Just like the Playing For Change - it's staged to look world wide. There's no way that is all recorded like it looks. Listen to Keith Richards' Words Of Wonder - it sure sounds like the Winos with Keith on bass to me, with a bunch of extra people involved.

While this performance is new, she's been playing it live with the "Heartbreaker" opening for years.

You can hear it on her "Live at the Capitol Theater" album released in 2010.

On the original studio version is Bobby Keys.

Yeah its got Bobby's very distinctive style on it. When Sheryl played it at Sheffield in '99, Bobby and the rest of the Stones' horn section guested on it. I dont think that happened at the other 4 UK shows where she opened for them that week

I thought this was fantastic. The Globe Sessions is her best album and thats a gem of a song.

Love this version, thought it was great, even if there some overdubs going on!

Agree with Gazza above that 'The Globe Sessions' is her best album.

Yeah the first 3 albums were really good, the fourth was ok too but more "formulaic"...

During her 2008 tour she had this "Gasoline" song where she used to play GS in the middle, that was really cool. I remember extracting the song from a Dime recording and posting it on "Rocks Off" to...a tepid response !

PS - that video was posted in "OT - Artists in Isolation" a couple of weeks ago ;-)

From the start of her successful career, Sheryl Crow seemed to have been in that peculiar business for the love of music. The fact that the Stones befriended her is really cool. Keep on rockin' Sheryl.

I met a woman earlier this year, who talked about that she was on a pub/night club in the early 80s in UK, and she was so insulted, she asked her friend, who was this pathetic guy following her all the time, trying to talk to her, even though she was no interested, trying to lick her ear and everything. And her (girl)friend said "don't you know? It's Rod Bloody Stewart - you've hit the jackpot!"

That was fun, thanks for posting. I’m finding all these ‘from home’ broadcasts to be charming and unpretentious. It’s nice of them to make the effort.
