Bill Rieflin, drummer & multi-instrumentalist for REM, King Crimson, Ministry, others has passed away in Seattle. A fine musician. I met him once & he was a nice guy too. He will be missed.

Very sad. And his wife, artist Francesca Sundsten who created a lot of Crimson's artwork, tour posters and more, died just half a year ago.

very sad. he had obvious taste and great chops on drums, and after becoming aware of his playing, with R.E.M., i wanted to know more. then you find out he was a fine multi-instrumentalist.. a smart, kind, good person..

Yup. For some reason Rieflin made this industrial band and its robotic beats swing. They never sounded better with Bill on the drummer's stool.

Very sad. Saw Bill with R.E.M. and various Buck/McCaughey projects a few times, was a terrific drummer.
