Geez... you're tough...
You said I can't say it's a tossup between these 2 or 3...
Well, I'm amazed that I can actually reduce this to 4 songs... What I find is that there are some songs that have absolutely mesmerizing music (audio), but maybe sort of "simplistic" or "juvenile" lyrics... then there are songs that have extremely interesting lyrics and "good" audio...
And then there's a category of "songs that made the stones famous"... like "signature songs", without which there wouldn't be such a stones mystique and without which they probably couldn't PACK STADIUMS... so I have to recognize those very unique songs... It just so happens that the "stadium packers" tend to have awesome rocking audio, but rather infantile lyrics... I can really think of about 5 or 6 of these....
Then there's the songs that just grab me on a personal level... and I've boiled that list down to 4 songs... none of which is a stadium packer on it's own...
Well, if I only have to pick one, I have to choose the song that "means the most to me"... and that is...
WILD HORSES>
There was one other song that was REAL CLOSE in the final analysis... it's a song I first heard in 1971 and thought "damn that's a great live song...".... and they still play it today with great regularity... it's a song that many a rider on the subway is singing as they leave a Stones concert...
And that song is...
Ooops... the rules are only one song
"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."
