In this context it's always worth remembering the collection of versions of Gimme Shelter released in support of the 'Putting Our House In Order" - a charity for the Homeless.
All sorts of interesting versions and combination of artists...
eg New Model Army featuring Tom Jones
CUD and Sandie Shaw
Kingmaker
Thunder
Little Angels
Hawkwind and Samantha Fox
Heaven 17 with Hannah Jones
Voice of the Beehive and Jimmy Somerville
There's also a Rolling Stones live version & I can't recall if that version is released elsewhere.
Put together in 1993 by Sherry Daly from The Rolling Stones office.
