does anyone know the real reason behind the rolling stones not playing shanghai or beijing 2003?I know sars was going on at the time.but was there any other reasons why they did not play.

also are there any chinese fans that post on iorr.

The Rolling Stones are more than just a rock band to many people and companies, with millions of dollars riding on their backs. There are also insurance reasons to be considered. They are not young men and arguably KR and RW are obviously not in the best health.

The reason was SARS and in fact, they may have been contractually prohibited from playing there due to SARS. Probably some "act of god" clause in the contract

I thought the reason was SARS at first, but then another obstacle came up--after the SARS threat was contained--that prevented them from playing. In other words, they had a chance to reschedule but it didn't happen. Someone must know?
