Just seen this myself Deltics.

I must admit that I don't know why it was postponed when you can pre-order your records and pick them up at your local record shop.

Am I missing something here.

Not the kind of shop I'll visit these days...

Sifting through various albums in a record shop is not a good idea now.

I guess you could say the same sort of thing as going to the library.

People handling loads of books to see which ones they like, then taking them home for a couple of weeks before they go back on the shelves again.

Now what did I do with my yellow gloves and disinfectant spray.

The libraries are closed. I'm surprised the record shops aren't smiling smiley

I'm sitting in my local library now DP as they have very fast wi-fi .

The libraries are open as usual over here, but that could change I guess.

Been for many years in a row. Not this year with a few hundred sweaty folks palming over the latest releases...

The virus can only survive one day on paper products. Still that's not much of a consolation except for the folks who mail the books or records.

This article mentions the Stones will have a release for much-delayed Record Store Day but provides no details -- anybody know what it will be?

And this:

This red vinyl 7” single features the rare Keith Richards track “Key To The Highway” which only ever saw release on the Japanese version of the album Main Offender, along with that album’s classic “Hate It When You Leave.”

"Hate It When You Leave" b/w "Key To The Highway"

Is Key to the Highway here the same cut as on the Johnny Johnson album? By the way, grabbed that JJ cd on recommendation here, so glad I did, didn't even know about it. Thanks again iorr.

Probably key the highway is the same cut here. At least that old Eileen maxi-single that DandelionPowderman linked have same version of the song as Johnnie Johnson's album, if I remember correct.

yeah I figure the one here (on the RSD release) will be the same as on the Eileen single (which I have too but hadn't compared to the JJ cut) but my question had more to do with whether that track was the same as the JJ album cut. Seems to me it might be but it would be pretty strange to have the same exact track released under two people's name (both KR and JJ) on entirely separate and unconnected releases, not to mention two record labels.

But I am sure stranger things have happened, so was just curious for a confirmation.

thanks again

Yes! The exact same track! And yes, an excellent album by Johnny Johnson, an all time great!

The above violet Aftermath is a beauty - received it last month after ordering it at the end of June, then forgot where I had heard about it.
Evidently it was right here in this thread, so belated thanks for the heads up Irix. thumbs up

Searched for this thread because Record Store Day in this coming Sunday (*the first of three dates)- never missed one since they started it over a decade ago. This year is different though, and due to the coronavirus/social distancing, etc., my local record store held a random lottery to allow a limited number of customers to enter the store at certain time slots beginning at 8:00 AM in 20 minute increments. Luck was on my side, and just received an email that I was picked for the first group! Now to do some homework and figure out if there is anything I actually want, and if it will be worth it to make it down to the record store by 8:00 on a Sunday morning haha. I'm assuming there will be some "must have" goodies as there always is, and in the past the line of people has sometimes wrapped around the building, so figure I better take advantage of my lucky spot.

The price on that Golden Discs site is double what it was on the uDiscover site back on June 28 - it was only $16 + a few dollars shipping when I ordered it.
It was advertised as limited edition, but not sure how many copies...must already be considered a "collectors item".
