Everything known so far about omicron points towards it being the best news of the pandemic. It is high time that society opens up completely and the virus really gets flying then the pandemic really will be over within a few months.
Nate
Best news of the pandemic were vaccines, but too many covidiots prefer horse de-wormer. Nate seems to think he is a scientist in the same league as Scot Atlas.

I'll ask God if he agrees on that.
One day you will hopefully wake up and realise that you have wasted your entire existence believing in something that doesn’t exist.

They should put all the vaccin development energy into medicine development and this would be over very soon.

Of course I do not think of myself as any expert in science or medicine. If you listen to people who do properly study these subjects then many will still have different views and some of those people are indeed saying that omicron could very well be the beginning of the end of the pandemic which if true then would certainly be the best news of the pandemic so far.

Like who? I have yet to hear ANYONE besides you and some covid deniers say that Omicron is a GOOD thing.

There are a number of medical professionals saying that the vast majority of people infected with omicron are so far showing extremely mild symptoms including Dr Angelique Coetzee who has been dealing with omicron patients since the variant first emerged in South Africa. It is common knowledge that not always but usually pandemics end in this way with a much more transmissible but less deadly variant at the end and so far omicron is looking like a very good candidate for that role.
By the way it is obviously impossible to say that omicron is a good thing whilst at the same time being a denier of covid.

I just heard a doctor from UK being interviewed who said just the opposite. They said reason it seems to be less severe is younger and vaccinated people are getting it who tend to have better outcomes. Under no circumstance can a virus spreading me a good thing. Doesn't matter, you do you. You have been anti-mask, against precautions for months.

Where is the evidence to show that omicron is at least as deadly as delta?
Here in the U.K. apparently 9 people have died from omicron so far but yet again we are not informed if these people had multiple health issues in the first place and if Covid actually killed them or they were infected with it when dying from something else.
These restrictions have now gone on for far too long and it must stop.People should not be having their lives curtailed in order to give 90 year olds another year or two of playing bingo in a care home.

How can it be premature to look at the only evidence available to date.It is premature to say that omicron is equally as deadly as delta when you don’t have any evidence yet to show that is the case.

It's premature to come to a conclusion based on early evidence. You're speculating, and you may be right, but you also may be wrong.
I'm not saying it's as deadly on a percentage basis, but what I did say was that if you have an overwhelmingly higher number of cases because of communicability of the virus, your death numbers could also increase correspondingly.
THOUGH, we don't know, because it's too early.
You're coming to conclusions based on a few anecdotal observations, which may bear out...or, you could be totally wrong.

Strict lockdown in the Netherlands - starting tomorrow - till January 14th - or longer.
The number of infections with Omicron doubles every two days.
This will be a hard winter.

You have been against lockdown, masks, spewing that Covid isn't killing people, life is killing people etc since day 1.
It will go away on its own, just like earth as a planet will. It will just take time and everyone on this site will be long gone way before it happens.
