I guess this is the next thing...rich and/or entitled people jumping the queue for vaccines.

While an official response took longer, she says there was one sign that, to her, suggested the tight-knit town had already passed judgment.
“Nobody gave them a ride back to the airport. They had to walk.”
Thanks for posting this story.
It is hard to understand it is real, but sadly so many people are so selfish.
Now they have to live with the shame.

Private concierge services are apparently arranging for some of their super-rich clients to skip the queue and have vaccinations in places like the UAE, where you can pay to have them done privately.
Meanwhile, an unseemly row is breaking out in Europe over vaccine supplies, with threats of legal action.

Vaccine tourism on the rise as wealthy international tourists eye an opportunity in the U.S. (NBC News Jan 25, 2021)
Florida has already taken steps to stop the "abhorrent" flow of scarce coronavirus vaccinations to wealthy line-cutters.
Shortly before the Covid-19 vaccine made its debut last month in the United States, an Indian travel agency called Gem Tours & Travels announced it was registering customers for an exciting new package: a four-day trip from Mumbai to New York City with a coronavirus shot thrown in for about $2,000.
"Vaccine tourism," Nimesh Shah, the company's business development specialist, called it.

Hmmm...perhaps someone should enquire as to who is supplying vaccines to the UAE and any other countries that do so, and other countries should lobby to reduce their supply.
To quote Amy Winehouse...what kind of f*ckery is this?

Bjornulf - I’m embarrassed to say that there are Canadian ‘Snowbirds’ (winter visitors) in Florida who not only have travelled there this year per usual, but who have sought out vaccines while there. Shameful.

Got my first vaccine today. The Moderna version. Stood in line for two hours in the cold. Luckily it didn't rain. It's supposed to tomorrow. I'm scheduled for the second dose in four weeks. I'm very relieved to get it. With so many a-holes not wearing masks, or not covering their nose, it's always stressful to go out for groceries and such. Hopefully we can get more of the vaccine out and begin to climb out of this depressing, worldwide mess.

COVID-19: EU eyes UK vaccine supply as AstraZeneca row deepens (Sky News)
Brussels is pushing for the pharmaceutical giant to make up its shortfall of jabs using its factories in Britain.
A senior EU official has suggested coronavirus vaccines produced in the UK should be shared with the bloc, as its supply comes under pressure.
Brussels's health commissioner Stella Kyriakides said given AstraZeneca is blaming production problems at factories in Europe on the shortfall in jabs delivered, the pharmaceutical giant's plants in Britain should be used instead.

I believe the first purchases were made before vaccines were even submitted for approval, so was a bit of a hedged bet that paid off as a good start. Glad we secured enough for 2nd doses.
