I'll be there! Fell in love with Minneapolis when I went for the Stones in 2015. Booked a room at Sheraton Midtown for $318 for two nights.

Any Dylan fans here? The 8-day Duluth Dylan Fest (2 hrs' drive north of Minneapolis) begins on show day.

Looking forward to checking out Minneapolis. Never been there before and have allowed two days at this stop. Can any locals give us some hints of things to do, places to catch some good music etc

I'll likely stay at the Canopy by Hilton, not far from the venue and a reasonable price. The Minneapolis stay will be shortest stop on my four-show mini tour. (SD to NSH).

Topi, it sounds like you're doing a similar itinerary as us. We leave New Zealand on 7th and overnight in LA. Then onto SD from 8-11, Vancouver 11-15, Minn 15-17, Nashville 17-22 then home.

Staying at Hyatt Place Downtown which I think is close to the stadium.

I grew up in Minneapolis but haven't spent very much time there in my adult life other than coming home for holidays and little trips...so I'm not so good for places to catch music, beyond the almighty First Avenue nightclub. I've seen many great shows there over the years, and it is immortalized in "Purple Rain" if you happened to be a Prince fan. The exterior walls are painted with many of the greats who have performed at the venue. Otherwise, if you are a Bob Dylan fan you could check out Dinkytown (near University of Minnesota) where Mr. Zimmerman evidently first started calling himself Mr. Dylan, or even take the two hour drive north to the Duluth/Hibbing area where he grew up.

As for non-music stuff, the sculpture garden at the Walker Art Center comes to mind, with the famous giant spoon and cherry, or walks/views along the Mississippi River, or enjoying the many lake trails around the area...Lake Harriet in particular has a small bandshell where concerts are often performed along the water...oops I slipped back into music!

Hot damn, I'm in!

It'll be my 23rd Stones show. My 1st Stones show back in '89 was also in Minneapolis...fitting, especially if this ends up being "The Last Time".

UPDATE: Cold damn, I'm out. Too bad I'm not closer to So-Fi, the only venue on the tour doing the right thing, in my opinion.

useful site with downloadable maps of Minneapolis:

https://www.minneapolis.org/map-transportation/maps/

The Blue Line of the Metro goes from the Airport into downtown and even has a stop by the venue (U.S. Bank Stadium), only 20 min. :-)

That is thoughtful of you, artedm. I can certainly message you, but from one fan to another...in full disclosure...you can get a better seat in my same section for less money. We paid $246 a ticket and now in the same section on Ticketmaster it is $171 or something like that...and in lower better rows (my row is 14th row, section C4).

As much as I don't want to "take a bath" on these tickets, I can't in good faith not say that if it were me, I'd buy one of those $171 tickets that are lower down in the same section.

But of course I can certainly message you if you like.

Keep on rollin'.

With the 40th tattoo you coming out Friday; who thinks troubles a coming makes it back to the set in MN after not being played in LA?

I think this song will make a comeback.

And, I think this will be the turning point in the setlist. They have a week off with the release of the remaster will hit a few other songs off the album.

Opinion- PIT, or Floor C Front Row/Center?
Posted by: benito ()

Looking for a Pit ticket to the Minneapolis show.....However, on TM today a seat in Floor C, Row 1, Dead-Center came up for $496......I was very tempted, but decided to pass and still going for the Pit.

Curious what y’all’s opinion between these 2 options is on this tour?
