Just trying to understand the process as you do seem to have a lot of knowledge about LD tickets.

You are right, Topi. This has been explained on this thread already. I guess I was a bit lazy. However, I do thank you for your input on this site. You give lots of informative information.

Just returned my Pittsburgh lucky dips. Hopefully one of you can snag them!

Sockers56 actually came up with a great idea.

We now have ALL Lucky Dip links in one place here:

I hadn't realized it before, but it seems that if you add the extension "?did=lucky" to the artist's tour itinerary/show list address, and then click on a particular show, the TM website seems to keep the extension, thus taking you to the Lucky Dip link.

(And no, no LD's currently available. This is why it takes you to regular tickets at the moment.

Watch those links though, because as people start getting refunds on theirs, TM puts the dips back on sale. This may take from a couple of weeks to a month.)

I checked back and it seems that last year, the postponement was announced on March 17, refunds were first authorized March 24, and the first Lucky Dip "refund drops" only appeared on April 22 so it will probably be another month or so before we see Lucky Dips for the rescheduled shows.

Scalp LDs? How do you "scalp" LDs?

LDs are not transferable. They can only be picked up by the person that bought them on TM originally. ID and credit card used must be presented at will call.

So I kinda fail to see the scalping part.

Anyone can pick up their LD ticket then scalp it, whether pre-arranged or on the spot.

That is very true. Once you pick them up you're free to do whatever you want with them. But: seeing as there will be a very limited quantity of these refunded Dips anyway, what's the problem? Don't really see a big speculative market for them, especially them being, what, 40 bucks a ticket face? Like, how much are you going to scalp that for?

I'm just trying to help fellow fans get LDs. What they end up doing with them, I don't care. I would trust the vast majority would use them.

100% agreed. The idea of some huge speculative market for LDs is misguided because, as you say, most people use them for themselves as intended.

It’s not speculative at all lol. Some resale groups are already talking about it on Discord. Oh well. Fingers crossed though.

How would it negatively impact anyone? Meaning, what’s the big deal? And, no I’m not a scalper.

Rusty, what I am saying is, I don't expect that many LDs to become available anyway so I don"t see that big scalper problem.

Think about selling Lucky Dips. You basically have to pick them up in person at the box office. You cannot transfer them online beforehand.

So a LD scalper would have to go pick those tickets up on show day, not knowing beforehand what seats they'll get. And only then resell them then and there at the venue.

Possible? Sure. But again we are probably only talking about a handful of pairs total. And even then, remember that most LDs will give you bad/mediocre seats. How much is a scalper going to get for a nosebleed on show day?

If they pull a pair of pits on the LDs, sure, that's a chance to make a quick buck on show day. Also depends on what anti-scalping measures the venue may have in place.

Hey, it's a cruel world out there, I know. But it isn't really that hard to figure out the Lucky Dip links anyway, and we have been doing this on this board from since at least 2019, if not before. The cat's been out of the bag for a long time.

As I said, just trying to help fellow fans get cheap tickets by posting these links/info. Anything that ends up happening is beyond my control.

I have LDs for Pittsburgh. I had regular seats for Buffalo. Driving 4 hours to Pittsburgh then picking up my tickets, I could not imagine scalping them. If they're at the top of the stadium, I'll be watching the show on big screens, along with 75% of the crowd. I am hoping to draw great seats. I am sure it will be my last Stones show.

Yes, it's luck of the draw. That's what makes LDs fun, in addition to possibly getting seats far better than the LD price point would suggest. Sure, they're usually nose bleed-ish, but not necessarily.

Long gone. They were on sale in February last year.

It would seem that the LD links behave the same way for LA and Vegas (the pop-up with "Your Exclusive Offer"). We'll only know for sure on Friday.

No worries. I figured I would ask in case they came up again. Still not sure what I am doing yet but I could drive to Pittsburgh from Delaware. That’s the closest show for me. Enjoy it

I mean, Pittsburgh LDs may only pop up again if some previous buyer gets a refund. Otherwise they won't just drop LDs.
