There are other different things in that mix as well. Early vocal take?

Fore sure, it's a different vocal take. I don't know if it is an earlier or later vocal take.
Maybe Andy Johns used a vocal take for the final mix, while Glyn Johns used another vocal take for his rejected mix. I don't know. I'm nor Andy, nor Glyn. I just heard the difference and wanted to point this on IORR.

Sorry for the inconvenience and for my bad english.

original release 'I know his name...'
CD 2 re-release (Glyn Johns mix (1973)) 'The palms of my hands..'

Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)
At the beginning of solo at 1.50-1.53 two loud static/electrical contact sounds from Mick Taylor's guitar. They also can be found on original CBS CD from 1986 but were cleaned from all other releases.

PS. All Glyn Johns mix (1973) tracks came with left<->right channels swap with respect to original release.

This isn't a different vocal take. Just an edit by Glyn Johns. 3 lines are cut out in this mix:

"But I know his name, he's called Mr. D
And one of these days he's going to set you free
Human skulls is hanging right around his neck"

I got the GOATS HEAD SOUP 2020 SUPER DELUXE VINYL BOX SET, but I regret it a little bit. There's no book or posters or other fun stuff. Stupid of me. I should've bought the other box! sad smiley

BUT I really love the sound quality and I love the instrumental version of Heartbreaker. Filled with mystery and coolness!

Same for me. As I already had Brussels Affair on CD (from Ward Records), I went for the 4 LP version. Was quite disappointed to find only the LP's in the big box. Not even a booklet or extra photos... Also I find the LP's sleeves quality not at the level of a "deluxe" edition : paper's quite thin and print quality is not as good as an original LP.
But... now I have Brussels on vinyl and I must say the new mix of GHs is quite alright on vinyl (not as boomy as the digital version).

Ok, so I'm not the only one. ;-)
I do love the package and the way they've released it, but it's a huge difference with the Exile box release; LP, CD's, DVD and a book! That's a real superdeluxe release to me! Total package! Still love that one.

The GHS superdeluxe is mediocre. Only vinyls. That's it. That isn't a superdeluxe release! sad smiley
Can someone tell me something about the 120-pages book and photos? How's the quality? The stories and stuff?

But I must say, I still do LOVE that instrumental version of Heartbreaker! Scary stuff and cool! Same goes for the alternative version of Dancing with Mr. D! That groove and tempo...man, awesome!

Minor tracks; All The Rage, Hide Your Love, Silver Train.
Don't like these tunes. I've always skipped them before. And still do.

UK chart midweek update: Less than 50 sales difference for the #1

Declan McKenna and The Rolling Stones' race for this week's Number 1 album looks like it will be a photo finish.

Data collected overnight by the Official Charts Company reveals that less than 50 physical (CD, vinyl and cassette) sales now separate the two acts in the race for Number 1.

21-year-old Declan McKenna is still at Number 1 as of the latest sales flash with his second studio album Zeros. Declan has the marginal physical lead and is ahead of his septuagenarian chart rivals on streaming by over 3:1.

But it's the iconic rock band fronted by Mick Jagger who have the most downloads of the week so far with their reissue of Goats Head Soup. The 1973 album went to Number 1 on release and is set to return to the Top 40 for the first time in almost 47 years following its remaster.

Zeros will mark Declan's first Number 1 album if he manages to fend off his legendary foes this week, while Rolling Stones have 12 Number 1 albums to their name and look to add another week at the top from one of their dozen.

Today my order from Amazon NL arrived and indeed they delivered the super de luxe box for 18.99. I am really happy with the box and also that kept their promise about the cheap price.

Keith is credited with bass on Winter according to you tube video of credits. I never knew that - I thought he was MIA. Is that right

Listening to the surround-sound mix, watching the goat head soup simmer on my 65" screen is both a bit freaky and mesmerizing at the same time. smoking smiley

Core Stones front and center with very clear supporting peripherals (horns, keyboards, strings) coming at you from all angles.

Thanks - Since I have not got the reissue yet and when I saw Winter 2020 version on YT that had Keith on bass, sorry -

Regarding Criss Cross - on YT - MT plays bass ? did he get song credit? If so does he receive any royalities or was that already signed away from his arranegment with the glimmers when he took some kind of lump sum payment.

The difference of the Japanese 3CD+BR are the 2 Bonus-Tracks on CD2 - [www.Universal-Music.co.jp] :

- 100 Years Ago (Glyn Johns 1973 Mix)
- Can You Hear The Music (Glyn Johns 1973 Mix)

The CDs are SHM-versions (Super High Material).

Credits on the album lists Taylor on bass (and maybe guitar—can’t recall) and he has a writing credit. I didn’t see it on ASCAP though.
