What does All The Rage sound like?

Like You Should Have Seen Her Ass with 2020 vocals. And more guitars

Is the word "ass" still used? added 2020 guitars? I can see the Let It Bleed reference...

Not like 1973 obviously, but a lot better than Exile deluxe or Some Girls deluxe. Jagger has improved his singing the last year, strangely enough!

Thank you...thumbs up As Keith said at the end of the Planet Rock interview, "Let's Do Another"(or something to that extent)

Thanks Erik thumbs up
I agree. All he has to do it's not singing with nasal voice!

And not so affected. Yes, Jagger's great, he should do a solo album in fact

Both color and B&W, both live and studio in the book. Some photos were already known but not all (especially the studio ones). A lot of text that I haven't been able to read yet, of course.

Great sound on the CDs. Very balanced. Great guitars (especially on 'All The Rage' i must say). The bass is here but not prominent in my opinion.

Very beautiful acoustic and instrumental Doo Doo Doo. Everything is crystal clear soundwise.

Not.....thumbs down

Of course not. It was a joke. It's not far from the outtake we already know, except for the reworked singing from Mick.

Same here MisterDDD, instant love when first playing the GHS vinyl in 1994 discovering the band. Love the aesthetic of the band, the boots of the tours in 73.

Was really surprised when learning how negative critical reaction was to it after listening to it that summer of '94. It has such a groove all its own; swampy, murky voodoo. The ballads are exquisite. Not to mention how good 100 Years Ago, Heartbreaker and Star Star are.

Looking forward very much to hearing this tomorrow.

I haven´t listen to the records yet, so i can´t say anything about the sound quality.

The package and all four records, i´m talking about the 4 LP Set, are looking great.
There is no hint that Giles Martin was involved in the Brussels Affair. Stephen Marcussen is listed as Mastering Engineer.

And it´s really, sometimes the pictures don´t lie, a 4 LP SET.....no extras (Book, Poster, whatever...)

Hmmm....I had thought that Brussels Affair on this deluxe release was done by Bob Clearmountain. I have the Brussels Affair from the Ward release (the combo with Marquee Club '71) which was done by Bob, so I figured if this new one was just the Bob one again, I'd just get the 2CD GHS version....but now if it's this Stephen Marcussen fellow......perhaps I need to reconsider. I'd be curious to hear from people in the coming days if anyone feels there is a big difference between the Clearmountain and the Marcussen versions.

The inner sleeve says "Mixed by Bob Clarmountain" and "Mastering Engineer: Stephen Marcussen".
I guess it´s about the vinyl mastering.

Really, they wrote Clarmountaineye rolling smiley

Ha, ok....thanks! And of course, mixing and mastering aren't the same so I shouldn't be throwing these words around so loosely anyway.cool smiley I guess I should look at who the Mastering Engineer is on the Ward release.

Support your local record stores winking smiley

As expected. Vocals upfront, bass and drums a bit up (not that much as for that other, lesser known beat band from England). Clearly, Giles Martin approach. But in Coming Down Again that 'PUSHHHSHHHSHH' is definitively not in place.
As usual these days, DR6 average over CD1 with Star, Star at DR5. This is strange, because CDs were mastered by Greg Calbi (who was involved in 1986 CBS re-issue program and his work on Some Girls is very good). Emily Lazar is credited for 2020 mastering too.

PS. New mix sounds clear a bit louder. Not sure I will like this clarity winking smiley. That muddy feeling of original CSB CD is gone all together with DR.

The lousy Dynamnic Range is the mess with CDs for the last 10 years and one reason for the comeback of records in my home (life?).
And yes...support your local record store thumbs up

Another review that does a good job of encapsulating 1973 and critical feeling about the Stones.

Guys n Gals...it's ''out there'' if you know where to look...I dislike the Giles remix immensely...as I thought I would. Vocals way up everything too clean ugh. That said, the outtakes and alt versions are amazing. 100 Years Ago piano just made my life, more guitars on Hide Your Love. Won't say more don't wanna ruin your surprise! All in all the extras are worth every penny.

Hide Your Love (altenate mix). This took the song to a new level. So much better, I think.
