I would like a time machine to give it a different mix and to replace "Can you hear the music" with "Criss Cross Man"!!!
[youtu.be]

I'm not a huge fan of "Criss Cross" but it still would have been better than "Hide Your Love."

That's funny. Criss Cross Mind is a much better song than Silver Train!

Silver Train is a poor man's All Down The Line.

In other words, the GOLD goes to ADTL, and the Silver, well...

All down the line and silver train don't give me the same vibe at all. Other than the train connection , they don't sound at all the same. Sparks will Fly sounds more like ADL than Siver Train

Mick Taylor said they dropped "Silver Train" on the '73 tour because "live" it sounded too similar to ADTL. I don't know why they didn't keep ST and drop ADTL, at least for that tour.

Like many of you, my hunch would be that Brussels Affair is included, but maybe only on a "super deluxe" version. The January benefit concert, and even Austrailian tour in February seem like extensions of STP to me, whereas, the Fall really is more of a GHS-ish tour.

Beyond that, I really hope for "Criss Cross Man (Save Me)" as I only have 90 second fade out clip of it on the boots I have (?) Maybe it's lifted from whatever movie it is that people are talking about?

Otherwise I'd love a "cleaned up" 'Potted Shrimp' and 'Separately' (or maybe those are from other sessions?)...is 'Separately' the same as 'Separate Ways'?

I've never heard 'All The Rage', 'Scarlet' or 'Fragile'...all sounds exciting to me!

I found a great clean clear version of Criss Cross Mind on YouTube that I converted to MP3 and it's now amongst several playlists as well as a revamped GHS of my own.

It's just "Criss Cross" -- some bootleger added the "mind". See prerelease article in "Rolling Stone " when it (and "Through the Lonely Nights") was still in the lineup. (Same article made no mention of "Coming Down Again" so that replaced one of those).

I can't believe I found it! "Winter" also mussing from initial tracklist:

Note cover announced here was moved to an insert (and they canned a poster!).

Dancing with Mr. D
Hundred Years
Do Do Do Do
Angie
Silver Train
Hide Your Love
Can You Hear the Music?
Starf*cker
Through the Lonely Hours
Crisscross

Maybe this was the original track listing? Weird that there's no "Winter" or "Coming Down Again" listed.

Here's another article from January 1973 where it talks about the Stones recording in Jamaica and even lists some songs titles from the sessions:

You Should Have Seen Her Ass
Star-f*cker
Separately
Four and In
Give Us a Break
Comin' Down Again
Waiting for a Friend

I hadn't noticed (until now) that there is a different version of "Drift Away" among the GHS outtakes.

Off the top of your head - is that Nicky on "Living in the Heart"?

"Drift Away" was from the IORR sessions in late '73, early '74.

And yes, Nicky plays on "Living in the Heart of Love."

True, re. "Drift Away" - I was listening on a GHS disc though. But my point was that I'd not realized that there were two versions.

They couldn't : European audiences had never heard ADTL live so they had to play it. Then when they had to remove the weaker song from the setlist "Train" was the obvious choice...

I wonder WHEN this’ll see the light of day? Before the tour? After? Christmas?

Maybe before or at the start of the Tour (like Sticky Fingers in 2015). If not, then probably at Xmas. But then we'll get no new Studio-Album in 2020 ....

For me, hopefully after the tour as I'm totally skint now that I've dealt with TMsmileys with beer

It was said in the interview (or was it in an article, referring to that interview) that they were «wrapping up the GHS reissue». Don't know if it's true.

At least they didn't say «early stages» smiling smiley

Wrapping up could be on early stages too. You know, cleaning the desk, choosing wrapping material, finding a decorative ribbon in the attic winking smiley

DAMMIT I keep forgetting that.

I suppose we'll know officially what it is called if it gets released on the purported GHS reissue.

Listening to the Exile Outtakes, really looking forward the GHS release over a new album. Micks vocals to Pass The Wine, Plundered and Following The River are so wonderful, emotional. How could they not be with those backing tracks.....

Yep...could have been too late since last year, well you can't stop and think about that kind of stuff of course.

I guess I was hoping this thread would stay on top and, although not visits/post wise, overtake the tired supposed new album thread.

You know... seeing that this is more promising etc...

It was something I wasn't sure would work on the previous releases , but I was pleasantly surprised how well it did! Like getting a modern version of the classic stones sound. Both old and new at the same time.

I guess this would be the highest profile re-release that ABKCO doesn't own. (And ABKCO hasn't released any bonus cuts on BB and LIB reissues.) Although GHS is an admittedly weaker release than Exile or Some Girls. I'd be curious as to whether this is really happening. The 'bonus' EMOS and Some Girls was done when Mick had lots of time away from the road.
