I was at the Miami show. As we exited, "I Say a Little Prayer", done by Aretha Franklin, was playing. At the time, I felt that was chosen to wish us well during the approaching hurricane. I'll never forget the rain beginning during Gimme Shelter. What a visual it was to see Mick through the rain drops escorting Sasha back down the slippery catwalk.

The rain during Gimme Shelter was epic/surreal, Mick was like a kid playing in the rain. I was happy to forget about the hurricane for a couple hours.

Let’s move refund talk to it’s own topic and save this space to anticipation of the return of The Rolling Stones live in 2020!

You don’t have to read them. Like it or not this is tour related info too.

A warning about Ticketmaster ‘refunds.’ I finally dedicated myself this morning to sorting out my ticket refunds. Was able to get reps to put refunds through for Detroit and Buffalo. For Vancouver - refunds aren’t being permitted by the promotor at this time.

I have 2 other TM orders - Stones in Charlotte and a show here next month that is postponed - and I was able to request a refund from my TM account last week for both. However, looking at those orders today, both still show ‘Request A Refund’ buttons so I was wondering if the requests are actually being processed. Was able to confirm the Toronto refund is in process. But for Charlotte...I was told that the promoter is not permitting refunds. I escalated the issue and there’s no budging them. I pointed out the scores of people who will have requested refunds and will be sitting patiently, expecting the funds to be credited to their cards, and the corporate f*ckery in general, to no avail. If you’ve used this option and think you’ve got a refund coming to you...check again.

Yeah, there are bigger issues right now, but this is beyond lame.

This is the email address for TM complaints, if you feel that a futile gesture is in order: consumer_support@ticketmaster.com

I've been wondering about that too. Live Chat rep today said 'if you got the "it will take 30 days" message then it is being processed' but I don't completely believe it.

Yeah, I got that for my Charlotte ticket - it’s not in process and now they refuse to process it. And the Request Refund option is still available and functioning on my order page. Fortunately I took a screen grab of the confirmation to support my complaint, but I doubt it will change their position.

Wow that's strange that some shows are offering refunds while others aren't?
Double verified...actually triple verified that San Diego is refundable, and indeed it is - after clicking refund request the first day, I opted for the online chat after having doubts.
Could take up to 30 days for refund, but it does say "Your order has been canceled" in my account which I think is a good sign.
Not so sure about Dallas where I had Lucky Dips - I did click on the refund request the first day, and the next day did a chat request, but will double/triple/quadruple check later...

EDIT: Dallas not showing "cancelled" yet as San Diego is, but don't have time to chat right now on TM...will do later

All are postponed, none are cancelled.

Yes I know this, I was referring to the specific order itself in my account - not how the shows are listed on TM.

Amtrak refunded my travels bookings for the tour this summer 100%. I phoned their international number, and much to my surprise, there was an agent on the phone in less than a minute! I said I needed to cancel my Amtrak travels in May/June. He asked why. I told him I was banned from travel from Norway into USA, based on the current virus situation. Then he refunded all my travels 100%. Since the Norwegian currency (NOK) has been loosing value by some 20% vs the US dollar due to the falling oil price the past few weeks, I did actually get NOK 2.800 extra in return, which is equivalent to US $255.

I was looking forward to do the great long travels by train from San Diego to Vancouver, then further on to Minneapolis etc, but sadly there will not be any tour.

BV, were your original Amtrak bookings flexible/refundable? I have a couple of non-refundable bookings, I wonder if it is worth trying?

syrel

When I bought the tickets they said the tickets were 100% refundable up to departure, because I booked Amtrak Premium Tickets. Since the travels were 38h - 52h, I also booked sleepers, i.e. separate sleeping rooms. This is what the rules say about the sleepers:

Amtrak policy:

Class of Service: Sleeper Accommodations
+++ Refunds:
Full refund if canceled within 24 hours of purchase. After 24 hours of purchase, 25% cancellation fee charged if canceled 15 or more days prior to departure. No refunds if less than 15 days prior to departure.

So I was prepared to get just 75% back, but when the agent asked me why I wanted to cancel, I guess they had a rule saying that circumstances out of my control could give 100% refund. I was happy with that.

I just requested a refund for the Louisville show, TM promised a refund in 30 days. Keeping my other 2 shows for now but I'm not sure why because I have no idea if I can make the new dates or if there will be new dates. Still hoping!

Huh, TM has told me Louisville wasn't ready for refunds yet. I may try again soon. Inconsistent answers.
I'm torn on possibly keeping that one.

I think my SD refund was confirmed to happen in 30 days, finally, after three attempts, not positive.

I am thinking positive right now.The Rolling Stones could tour from the
beginning of September to the beginning of November. The last concerts of the tour could be in Detroit,Atlanta, and Tampa,or San Diego.
Hopefully they will tour in 2020.That is about 5 1/2 months from now.

But you dont know how virus will spread. I doubt they will play when air traffic will be closed, it will be a tour for Americans only, no Europe people, but who knows if virus will dissapear completely in Europe but will spread in US.. I dont think it will be 2020, it's too dangerous to postpone tour and later what? Postpone again?

It is good to think positively but it’s also important to be realistic.
There is more chance of Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron turning up at your door naked than the Rolling Stones going on tour this year.

This received back from TM this morning:

We apologize for the confusion. For some events, in different locations, we are still waiting for the event
providers to approve refunds and/or announce new dates. I did look into The Rolling Stones concert at Bank of America Stadium
and I do show refunds have been approved. I have submitted your request for a refund. Please be advised,
it can take up to 30 days for the refund to be processed, due to the high volume of canceled
and postponed events across the United States.
The Rolling Stones concert at BC Place has not been approved for refunds at this time. Please keep checking our website for
updates. As soon as we receive information regarding this show, it will be posted on our site. We apolgize for any inconvenience you have experienced.

At least the stones made an announcement and are issuing some refunds.
Guns n Roses are still selling tickets for a European tour that was due to start on May 20th in Portugal with no announcements regarding postponement or cancellation.

[www.PaulMcCartney.com] too - only Glastonbury was removed from the list. Also no postponement/cancellation e.g. at the 50-Years-Tour of [Kraftwerk.com] .

The key phrase being "some" refunds.

And I did not need to have the giant postponement announcement posted again up page like I have reading comprehension issues.

I asked this a few pages back and I guess I will try again. Is not this tour and all the Cohl tours of the past handled by the same promoter? If yes, it makes no sense that some shows have already given refunds and others are refusing.

Could be that refunds are being given out in increments due to the magnitude of the crisis which resulted in mass postponements/cancellations of concerts and events around the world.

No, the Tours 2013-2020 were promoted by the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) - [www.RollingStone.com] .

The contracts with Michael Cohl had ended in 2007 and there was a dispute between Live Nation and Cohl in 2011 - [www.Reuters.com] .

I worded my post poorly. I knew it was not Cohl anymore. But, nevertheless, AEG is "one" promoter so my original question should still be valid as to why refunds are not uniform at all shows.

So are they refunding ATL yet? Really scratching my head on the answer I got from ticketmaster on Friday stating promoter hasn’t approved ATL for refund yet but I can try and sell my tickets if I wish. Thought that response was beyond ridiculous.
