Noone mentioned "Monkey Man" yet?
C'mon... His OTT vocal delivery perfectly matches the mad riffs and the mad lyrics that make this song.

It would surely make the "fun" category...

Swayed1967

I Don't Know Why is one of my favourite Jagger vocals too (Top 20 I think). To cover Stevies Wonder's great song is not for everone, but Jagger does a great, great job. He might not top Wonder, but equals him in his own way. It is one of the few highligts on the uneven Metamorphosis.

"Out Of Tears" is a latter-day small masterpiece. And Ron's solo elevates the song to another level. thumbs up

Hey Northof49, where abouts do you live? I'm assuming somewhere in Canada?

Your assumption is correct DG. I am in good old Cowtown which unfortunately has become a bit of a dead town lately. You're out on the coast?

Yes I am, actually close to the coast in Hope! Still part of the lower mainland. Several others around Vancouver including Treaclefingers, Paddy and Babyblue.

I'm closer to you than you think...think the 'wack'.

You Gotta Move … Shelter … Hoo Doo Blues
Little Rain ……. You Better Move esp the
performance Blues In Rhythm show 1964 and and
and what about Cops And Robbers from same show …
Mick's so friggin hip cool
….. cuts the original by Boogaloo ta shreds ….

Pour it on Mick … Pour it on …..

When you hear the early recordings, it's impressive how good he was already, right out of the gate. Cops and Robbers is a perfect example of that.

The best is yet to come, and when that is nobody knows.

Would be nice if they did a quick blues cover and release it as a single....Mick wailing away on vocals and harp....

I would throw in a couple off Out of our Heads: That's How Strong My Love Is and Cry To Me.

That's How Strong My Love Is...totally neglected that one. Makes me want to rejig my top ten maybe.

GREAT PICK!

Yes THSMLI is superb; all his early soul stuff is tops. But I think the late Live version is almost better because he was able to transcend; maybe just for that song. Something that happens very rarely these days.

While MJ's vocals can be enjoyed in every era, I think there was a peak period for him around 1976, with that Black and Blue album.

Hand of Fate/Hey Negrita... just the perfect rock and roll voice and tone.

Just thought of something interesting on that note. While his 'studio voice' was unbelievable, if I think back to the live stuff from 1975, for me, that has to be his worst period. Sounded out of it/going through the motions.

I contrast that to the 81 tour, where he had that really 'low register' for most of the songs, but sounded great nonetheless.
