Dutch Guitarist Jan Akkerman and some fellow musicians is doing a Sticky Fingers tour in Dutch theaters the upcoming weeks. Unfortunately I didn't hear a decent Mick Taylor interpretation yet, despite the fact that Taylor contributed some beautiful stuff, as of course did Keith and the rest of the Stones. Any opinions or comments?

So.... I saw this show last night.
First they played complete Sticky Fingers, after that songs like Shine a light, 2000 lightyears from home, jumping jack flash, satisfaction.

The setlist itself was cool,
but...
They didn't rock, they didn't roll, they didn't swing,

What did they do....hmm...
to me it felt like the musicians don't really care if they play Toto, Madonna or the Stones. Last night they were acting as if they were a rockband, some of them very over-acting.

The show is not a rockshow, but sort of a broadway-musical with Stones-songs.

It's time to the see the real Stones!

Ive been listening to some youtube clips, and it is a bit disappointing indeed, certainly as far as Akkerman is concerned. No matter how good he can play, there's no musical connection with the original Sticky Fingers-vibe. Maybe he just doesn't care and plays his own rut of chromatic/pentatonic licks. As far as the band is concerned, it's just another thirteen in a dozen Stones coverband. Not good, not bad. It serves its purpose. Lounge entertainment that is.

I noticed how the drummer skips his hi-hat just like Charlie. But that doesn't make you drum like him...
