Been listening to their incredible live album "On Tour ( w/ Eric Clapton )-- produced by Jimmy Miller, this record documents their rocking 1969 European tour that featured not only Clapton , but George Harrison ( who was still a Beatle ) and Dave Mason. They were one on the hottest bands in the world in 1969-1970. When they imploded, their members helped produce some of the biggest acts in the following years: Derek & the Dominoes, Joe Cockers Mad Dogs and Englishmen, the Rolling Stones horn section, the Apple Records "Wrecking Crew" and launched Leon Russell to superstardom. They were the backing band on Eric Claptons 1st solo album, and were John Lennon's backing band at his 1969 Lyceum Ballroom concert ! What a band ! Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett, Leon Russell, Bobby Keys, Jim Price, Bobby Whitlock, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle, Rita Coolidge, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and Dave Mason. WHEW !
There's a 45 minute b&w concert from 1969 on YouTube. Great stuff. Clapton and Harrison are having a blast being part of a band where they aren't the focus.
