Oh, no. Such a loss. I watched The Life of Brian just the other night, was reminded that he directed it. What a lovely, talented man. He will be missed.

Besides directing Life of Brian he also delivered one of the all time classic lines. "He's not the messiah, He's a very naughty boy" smiling smiley

Man in Crowd (Idle): If it’s not too personal a question, are you a virgin?

TJ: If it's not too personal a question? How much more personal can you get, now piss off!!

Too many great lines to quote from this fantastic film.

RIP Terry

The best lines of all...

Brian's folowers shouting in unison: "Yes, we're all individuals."

and, of course,

"How shall we f*ck off, Lord?"

Thank you to The Dirty Vicar, the most bizarre Martin Luther, and the man who gave us so much great FLYING CIRCUS, HOLY GRAIL, LIFE OF BRIAN, MEANING OF LIFE, RIPPING YARNS, ERIK THE VIKING moments and his wonderful scholarship of Chaucer and the Middle Ages.

"Can we have your liver then?"

So sad to hear... now both Brian and his mother are no longer with us... back in 2014 I had to choose between seeing the Stones (one more time) or the Pythons. I decided on the Stones - thinking they are more likely 'not to be around' for any time longer.

From Terry Jones’ Barbados diary, while revising the Life of Brian script:

Eric told us that dinner was at 8:00 p.m. at the manorial stone table on the imposing terrace, and that Mick Jagger and his friend Jerry Hall were coming to dinner. We al went off and had showers and thinks and then reassembled in the upstairs sitting room. John said it was the moment he had been waiting for all his life. Eventually Mick and friends arrived and, as the staff were restless, we went down to dinner more or less immediately. Jerry told John that his new house (which she used to live in with Brian Ferry) was haunted, and I rather bored Mick with some detailed information about the 14th century.

My favorite Terry Jones line from Monty Python:

I would tax all foreigners living abroad.

RIP

Sad.

He also hosted a great documentary series on the Crusades adding a lighthearted/comedic spin to it all.
Hard to think of the Crusades as lighthearted or funny in any way, but he made it happen!

RIP Terry Jones.

EDIT - Was just looking for the Crusades documentary series on youtube, and see he did another series called Medieval Lives a few years later in 2004.
Here's episode 1 of 8: Terry Jones "Medieval Lives" - The Peasant
Learn and laugh at the same time with Terry Jones!

No longer any need to bring him a bucket. He just kicked it.

The bucket scene in Meaning of Life is one of the most hilariously over the top things I've ever seen.

Fond farewell to a comic genius.

Not a surprise given his long battle with dementia, but still sad nonetheless. Such a talent. Hasn't been a Python death in forever, so I'm at least happy he got to live out his life. Wonderful funny man. I loved Cleese's tweet "Two down, four to go." These guys are such legends.

No Python death since forever? He wasn't officially a Python member, but Neil Innes, who died a few weeks ago, was their Chuck Leavell.

Just to mention he was a serious Chaucer scholar too, a man of very many talents. RIP Terry.
