and Charlie with a wig as Granny Clampett who has Keith play some bluegrass out by the pool while Ellie Mae gives him a "come hither" look

Just old American TV shows, open-g. They all had some interesting characters on them. I'd feel the same way if it was old British (for example) TV shows.

Now Keith, playing the dual roles of Jethro and Jethrine, is able to talk Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, playing themselves, into investing in his new double knot spy venture, ultimately leaving them penniless.

=======Some of this stuff is a whole lot better than the real episodes! =======

I think so also, Elmo....but I would also throw a Quenton Tarrantino violent twist into the Happy Days scenario:

Potsie and Ralph Malph are taken out and shot execution style; Richie Cunningham is jailed and repeated raped in prison; Joanie and Jenny Picalo gang-banged by the high school metal shop students; and Fonzie is continually having the living-sh-t beaten out of him but anyone taller than him...which pretty well nails the entire cast.

Hey open-g,
This "steppney & sons," is it by any chance about British father and son junk yard owners. Perhaps with a happy go lucky friend named Grady?

I'm glad you're back Elmo. I was afraid my last joke tanked.

Hey, I think I'm going to send you that Pink Floyd t-shirt. I think it's an extra large, maybe a large. It's time to pass it on.

Thanks, Lukester. I'll wear it with pride. I'll e-mail you.

Keith, Rollo, Grady, Fred, Julio, Julio's goat, and Esther! Now that would be a cast!

Yeah thats the one.
I wasn't sure about the name as it seems to be 100 Years ago I watched that.
I'm surprised you know it, u r from the US, aren't you?

Hey open-g, Yes I am from the USA. I was actually joking about how "steppney and sons" sounds similar to an old show in the USA called "Sanford and Son." I am sure steppney is much more sophisticated than the one I am familiar with. As Elmo pointed out, Sanford and Son occasionally features "Julio's goat" as a character.

Actually the Sanford and Son show was based on the British version Steptoe and Son.

Didn't Kieth and Ron already have there "MAYBERRY" moment in the middle of Arkansas in 75?

Are you serious, Shawn20? I was just joking around and now you're telling me that the British TV show really was about a family junkyard enterprise? That is too f***ing cool!! I bet they didn't have a goat, though, did they?

and Doc, what's this Mayberry moment in Arkansas, of which you speak? This doesn't have anything to do with Sweet, Sweet, Connie does it? (immortalized in the song "We're an American Band").

In the fading credits during the first season of the show (72) I believe, I clearly recall reading the show was based on the British show.

Yep, they wanted to see some of the real America heartland and could have paid dearly for it, if they'd been busted for their stash. There was an article about the Fordyce incident on the net somewhere....the guy whose father owned the "Four Dice" restaurant where it happened was a huge Stones fan and was out of town to see them in Memphis when it happened. Out of the blue, his heroes come walking in the door and he was not there...what a bitch. If you're ever in Fordyce, Ark., I believe the restaurant is still open.

Kind of like me celebrating my 30th b-day finally getting thru to Keith on a radio talk show and having the connection go dead before I could talk to him....I still cry on that one.

Shawn20 speaks of the near bust of Keith , Ronnie, and Freddie Sessler in Fordyce, AK in 1975. Locals raised hell and the sherrif let 'em go. Something like that. Keith was busted for a switchblade, while the trunk of the car was full of Columbian snow!

Wow, and did tales of the trunk of blow only surface after our heros were safely away from this angry mob and the gentle sheriff? and why was the mob angry? I've never heard of this near catastrophe.

I'm afraid so, Elmo, or at least that's what I heard back in the 80's. There's a little tourist town here in the mountains named Blowing Rock, NC. You better believe this town's name was the punch line of some Rock Hudson jokes when he was "outted."

The one I heard was that Jim Nabors had drowned - They found hm bobbing on the Hudson!

P. S. The shirt is the bomb! And.... I thought this thread was just tooo good to die! Be cool, Lukester!

You're killing me, Elmo. "Bobbing on the Hudson"

And this has been one of my favorite threads. I see it as an invitation to be creative, albeit the subject matter may be a little silly.
