That Last Waltz tribute that Warren led in New Orleans a few years ago was supposed to be a one-off and was priced accordingly. Then there was a second show, then a tour, and recently another tour.

I can't see this lineup putting in all the work for a single show. My guess is that they take it on the road to play sheds for a couple weeks late in the summer, once Derek is done with Wheels of Soulm

Hope you are right as I would love to see it but if they do the shed show tickets will not be cheap IMHO

They gave the band a name "The Brothers" and even list Chick as a "guest." This is a Live Nation sponsored event and they will run it through sheds and festivals in August/September without a doubt. Everyone's schedule is open after the first week of August.

As a follower of ABB since 1973 I just can't get over the feeling that this is like trying to get lightning to strike twice in the same place.

I enjoy and look forward to nods to ABB by Gov't Mule, TTB, D&Co., and numerous other bands I see regularly as time goes by. Just last Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC where I live there was a great set by Gov't Mule as an ABB send up.

This has all the smell of a TM pocket robbery with a shed tour this summer as well.

Thanks,

Mike

FYI - there are tons of cheap tickets for this on Stubhub now.
Poor planning and marketing for this gig by MSG.
They should have done this at the Beacon.

Dont hold your breath waiting for this to become a tour.
This will be a one off, one and done show.

They "sold out" quickly but thousands bought by people trying to make a buck. Those plus the hold backs plus what else is going on has caused prices to crash. I know a bunch of people who were planning to come to NY who are now not going.

The blonde haired singer will be missed.

Big picture: We've already missed the 50th Anniversary. The Allman Brothers formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1969, and released their first album that year. What? Is the 51st Anniversary not commercially sexy enough?

Instead of this, they should hunt down and release every scrap of film with the original band playing.

The show was smoking! 24 songs in 4 hours, including a 1/2 hour break. Yes, Gregg was missed, but the band was ridiculously tight. Warren handled all the lead vocals except Blue Sky, which Chuck sang. Derek in particular was in top form. The seats that were visible on the webcast looked occupied.

Just got back from MSG and it was a great show! Band played for 3.5 hours, Chuck sang "Blue Sky", they were very tight and crowd was great. If this is the last show that I see for awhile, the juice from tonight wil keep me going until the next one!

We have until the 51st anniversary, March 26, 2020, to celebrate the 50th anniversary. They got together for the first time on March 26, 1969. So the show took place just under the wire as a 50th anniversary celebration.

I had a ticket for last night's show at MSG. I stayed home.

On the bright side, I saved money.

Parking: $40
EZ Pass for Lincoln tunnel: $13
T-shirt: $50
Beers: $16.50 each

I agree. Bagged on the trip a few weeks back. After the New Rochelle outbreak glad I did. Will wait for the inevitable DVD.

Glad you enjoyed the show.

Dickie Betts was truly a sad case during last year's tour. Duane Betts would have been a good choice, though.

Dickey did a guest spot at the Beacon with Tedeschi Trucks Band in 2013. It was shambolic. He claimed to have other commitments last night, like washing his hair.
