Did Brian Jones influence Brian Eno

Had Brian Jones lived , what do you think he would have done with modern synthesizers and recording techniques. On Satanic Majesties and even on Beggars Banquet,on Jigsaw Puzzle and Stray Cat Blues you can hear him doing things on the melotron which are similar to what Eno did later on Heroes and with U2.But the mellotron is a limited instrument. It would have been interesting to hear what Brian could have done with modern synths .Do you think Brian might have produced music like Heroes but with a more rhythmic approach. And was Eno influenced by Him

If he found the right band and got the right songs to embellish, why not?

On the question of influence: my guess would be NO.

Eno's self-professed influences tended to fall into two categories:

1) American black music - gospel, r&b, jazz, soul, blues

2) Euro/American "art" music: Stockhausen, Cage, Reich, Terry Riley, Lamont Young, e.g.

He covered songs by The Beatles, The Kinks, and The Velvet Underground, but never The Stones.

Keith lasted four days working
in a Post Office.. Eno was born
into a family of postal workers ….

Stones pissed on building walls
Eno shone lights on building walls …..

Eno tried ta copy Brian's
hair-doo but he sipped the wrong
tonic and it tangled up his mind …..

Yeah there's a lotta connections there …..

The stones never really got the credit for the 1967 period, they got plenty of criticism instead, its a very underrated period for the stones and brians influence should never be underestimated. I think if brian had lived he would have gone on to be successful in many other areas of music and would have been a massive influence on many artists. whether eno was influenced i dont know or whether he even knew what brian achieved i dont know either.
